Traceability: An inevitable direction to improve product quality

With the production and sale of counterfeit and fake goods still occurring frequently recently, to protect the interests of the community, implementing traceability of products and goods is currently a top priority.

RESPONDING BUSINESSES AND ORGANIZATIONS

According to the Department of Science and Technology (KH&CN) of Dong Thap province, in the context of international economic integration and the strong industrial revolution 4.0, information transparency and enhancing consumer confidence in products and goods are urgent requirements for state management agencies and production and business enterprises. Therefore, the construction and operation of the product and goods tracking system is an important step, demonstrating the province's determination to accompany and support enterprises to improve their competitiveness, promote digital transformation in the fields of production, trade and product quality management.

Many enterprises and organizations in Dong Thap province participate in the TXNG system.

Pursuant to Decision 100/QD-TTg dated January 19, 2019 of the Prime Minister on "Approval of the Project on deployment, application and management of the TXNG system", the former Department of Science and Technology of Tien Giang province (now the Department of Science and Technology of Dong Thap province) has advised the Provincial People's Committee to issue a plan to deploy and implement the above content. The Department of Science and Technology is the focal agency for state management of TXNG activities, monitoring the implementation of assigned tasks in the plan.

On that basis, the Department of Science and Technology has coordinated with the Center for Science and Technology Development and Quality Measurement LACO to implement. Up to now, the implementing unit has completed the science and technology task with the topic "Research and development of the TXNG management system". In which, many enterprises in the province have registered to participate in the TXNG system.

Kim Phat High-Tech Agricultural Cooperative (An Thanh Thuy Commune, Dong Thap Province) specializes in producing tissue culture seedlings. For the Cooperative, transparency in the origin of seedlings and cultivation processes is not only a mandatory requirement to meet market standards, but also a commitment and responsibility to the people as well as associated partners. Currently, the Cooperative has applied the TXNG barcode to all batches of MD2 pineapple seedlings. This barcode will closely monitor from the nursery room, lab testing, care process, substrate treatment, soil conditions to the time of delivering seedlings to farmers and the entire process of managing commercial growing areas.

According to the representative of Kim Phat High-Tech Agricultural Cooperative, thanks to the application of TXNG barcodes, the cooperative and growers can easily track information about the seed batch produced on which date, the status of plant quarantine, care diary, fertilization, spraying, expected harvest date, etc., helping to increase reliability with import partners, enhance product value, etc. At the same time, it limits risks in the quality control process, especially when participating in bidding for seed supply for large-scale raw material development projects.

Nam Hieu Viet Company Limited (An Thanh Thuy Commune, Dong Thap Province) specializes in producing and supplying bamboo rats and black H'Mong chickens for breeding and commercial purposes. Mr. Huynh Van Hieu, Director of Nam Hieu Viet Company Limited, said that the company has registered to participate in the province's TXNG system and has created QR barcodes. In the coming time, both bamboo rats and black H'Mong chickens will be applied by the company with this TXNG system. "For example, when people buy black H'Mong chickens for breeding, the company will create a breeding area at that farm and require the breeders to update care information during the breeding process until the company collects and sells them to the market. All will be shown through the province's TXNG system. TXNG will bring many benefits to businesses; because currently, there are many fake, counterfeit, and unknown goods on the market. When applying TXNG, it will help businesses increase their reputation and trust with consumers," Mr. Hieu added.

TO EFFECTIVELY DEPLOY THE TXNG SYSTEM

According to the assessment of the Department of Science and Technology, the initial TXNG will create trust among customers, transparently announcing product information. When proactively looking up the TXNG code, consumers can shop with confidence, and retailers can easily control risks arising when tracking and the entire path of goods. The TXNG system allows consumers to have full upstream information, looking up from the final product to the original place of production, with information about each stage in processing and distribution.

For businesses, TXNG helps protect reputation effectively. At the same time, it conveys all messages from the manufacturer to consumers through a simple code scan. The application of TXNG will contribute significantly to enhancing the competitiveness of businesses' products in domestic and foreign markets; supporting the strong development of product export activities, helping businesses reach new heights. The application of the TXNG system is not only valuable in terms of economy, but also helps businesses join hands to protect the interests of the community and consumers, contributing to pushing counterfeit and fake goods out of the market.

For state management agencies, the TXNG system helps control the goods market more effectively, preventing counterfeit goods, fake goods and other illegal acts. From the reality of counterfeit production and trading cases discovered recently, it requires management work to be further improved, especially the application of technology management. In which, TXNG is also one of the solutions that state management agencies can research and apply.

Deputy Director of the Department of Science and Technology of Dong Thap province, Nguyen Doan Thanh Tuyet, said: “The TXNG portal will be an effective support tool to help businesses manage their supply chains transparently; provide accurate and timely information to consumers. At the same time, it will create favorable conditions for functional agencies in the work of inspection, supervision and TXNG when necessary. In the coming time, the Department of Science and Technology will continue to accompany and support units and businesses in the process of applying and effectively implementing the TXNG system in practice…”.
