This year, Pham Ngoc Thach University of Medicine (HCMC) continues to enroll students nationwide with a total expected enrollment target of 1,920 students (an increase of 440 compared to last year).
Most of the admission quota is based on high school graduation exam scores
The school enrolls students using two admission methods, in which the majority of the quota is based on the 2025 high school graduation exam scores. The school does not use the reserved exam scores from previous years' high school and national high school exams for admission and does not give priority to admission.
Method 1: Admission based on high school graduation exam results in 2025.
Method 2: direct admission (group I applies according to Article 8 of the admission regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training and group II applies to Lao and Cambodian students).
For detailed information on how to apply for direct admission, see here.

If there are many subject combinations for admission, the combinations will be considered together, without any regulations on the difference in scores between the combinations.
Subjects corresponding to the subject combination code for admission:
B00: Math - Chemistry - Biology
B03: Math - Literature - Biology
B08: Math - English - Biology
A00: Math - Physics - Chemistry
A01: Math - Physics - English
The school notes that for majors using a combination of admission subjects including English, the school only applies to candidates with high school graduation exam scores in English in 2025. The school does not convert foreign language certificates used for high school graduation exam exemption into foreign language scores for admission.
Sub-criteria for priority order of wishes and math scores
Additional conditions used for consideration in case candidates have the same total admission score, are prioritized in the following order: order of candidates' registration wishes, high school graduation exam score in math in 2025.
The school determines priority points: priority subjects and priority areas are determined according to the guidance of the Ministryof Education and Training in 2025.
The school will announce the input quality assurance threshold for the majors according to regulations and is expected to be announced before 5:00 p.m. on July 23.
Total priority points: including priority subject points and priority regions are calculated on a 10-point scale (without coefficients). The total priority points for candidates with a total score of the admission subject combination of 22.5 or higher (when converted to a score on a 10-point scale and the maximum total score of 3 subjects is 30) are determined according to the following formula:
Priority points = [(30 - Total points of the admission subject combination achieved)/7.5] × Total points of priority subjects and priority areas are specified according to the school's admission regulations.
The school does not apply bonus points in admissions in 2025.
For the Vietnamese-German joint medical class, candidates must have an English proficiency of IELTS 5.5 or higher or TOEFL iBT 75 or higher or equivalent. The Vietnamese-German Medical Faculty will conduct the admission exam after candidates complete the admission procedures.
Nursing includes general nursing, anesthesia, resuscitation, and out-of-hospital emergency care. The separation of training majors is done after students complete the first year program.
Admission principles
Candidates who graduated from high school and have the results of the 2025 high school graduation exam with the total score of the combination B00 / A00 / A01 / B03 / B08, bonus points (if any) and priority points (if any) must be equal to or above the threshold score to ensure input quality as prescribed by the school to register for admission to the corresponding major.
Candidates can register their wishes for many majors, the wishes are arranged in order of priority from high to low (from small to large wishes). In case many wishes meet the admission requirements, candidates will only be recognized as having passed and called for admission according to the wish with the highest priority order.
Candidates only choose the admission code, the general admission system of the Ministry of Education and Training will choose the subject combination for admission.
Total admission score: is the total score of the exams according to the admission subject group on a 30-point scale (without coefficient), bonus points and total priority points (if any) according to regulations and rounded to two decimal places.
The school will announce the expected admission scores before 5:00 p.m. on August 22. Candidates who are admitted and confirm their enrollment will not be eligible to participate in other admission rounds.
