On the morning of August 12, at the headquarters of the Central Economic Committee, Politburo member and Head of the Central Economic Committee Tran Tuan Anh received Korean Ambassador to Vietnam Choi Youngsam.

Comrade Tran Tuan Anh congratulated Mr. Choi Youngsam on taking up the position of new Korean Ambassador to Vietnam right after the two countries upgraded their relationship to Comprehensive Strategic Partnership.

The Head of the Central Economic Commission expressed his delight at the positive development of the Vietnam-Korea relationship with many important and comprehensive achievements in all fields; affirming that Vietnam always considers Korea an important and long-term strategic partner. He pointed out that the two sides have become each other's leading important partners with Korea ranking first in investment, second in ODA, and third in trade cooperation with Vietnam.

Comrade Tran Tuan Anh emphasized that the potential for cooperation between the two countries is still very large and suggested that the Korean side coordinate to effectively implement the Vietnam-Korea Free Trade Agreement (VKFTA), continue to strengthen cooperation and support each other within the multilateral framework; support Vietnam, especially in areas such as science and technology, semiconductors, innovation, green economy, digital economy, digital transformation, clean energy, smart cities, ecological cities; high-tech agriculture , marine economic development; strengthen cooperation in linking supply chains; build Korean research and development centers in Vietnam.

In cooperation in developing renewable energy, especially wind energy, he suggested not only stopping at cooperation in electricity production but also aiming at developing the wind energy industry and other renewable energy in Vietnam; he also emphasized the development of forestry cooperation associated with forest protection, especially the development of medicinal plants and the medicinal industry.

The Head of the Central Economic Commission expressed his belief that Mr. Choi Youngsam, in his position, will continue to promote the cooperative relationship between Vietnam and Korea to develop more strongly, substantially and effectively.

Ambassador Choi Youngsam thanked Comrade Tran Tuan Anh for his welcome and highly appreciated the development of the Vietnam-Korea Comprehensive Strategic Partnership.

Mr. Choi Youngsam expressed his honor to take on the role of Ambassador to Vietnam - one of the most important partners of Korea; affirmed that he will do his best to contribute to promoting the development of the relationship between the two countries in a practical and effective manner.
