Coach Troussier's favorite student scored, U22 Vietnam still lost to Korea

U22 Vietnam entered the first match of the CFA Team China 2025 tournament against U22 Korea. As expected, the white-shirted players encountered many difficulties in the early part of the first half. U22 Korea has a tall physique, taking advantage in one-on-one disputes. However, Van Truong and his teammates played calmly.

In the first 15 minutes, U22 Korea had 2 dangerous opportunities but Cao Van Binh brilliantly blocked them both. Meanwhile, U22 Vietnam proved that they are not easy to defeat. In the 20th minute, from Hieu Minh's long pass, Quoc Viet entered the penalty area and shot into the opponent's net but the goal was not recognized.

The rest of the first half was an exciting match as U22 Vietnam was ready to launch impressive counterattacks. Even U22 Korea had difficulty finding a way into Cao Van Binh's goal. The 0-0 score remained until the two teams entered the break.

In the second half, U22 Vietnam created a big surprise. In the 53rd minute, from Nguyen Quoc Viet's precise pass, Thanh Nhan rushed in and scored a tricky shot to open the score for U22 Vietnam. Before that, goalkeeper Lim Jun-sub dived to block the ball but failed.

Overall, U22 Korea did not have much difficulty winning in one-on-one battles. However, the reasonable formation distance helped coach Dinh Hong Vinh and his team maintain their achievements. But U22 Korea did not want to lose and rushed to attack.

Under great pressure from their opponents, U22 Vietnam could not stand firm until the final whistle. U22 Korea got an equalizer in extra time by Jeong Jae-sang.

The match ended in a 1-1 draw.
