Painter Pham Duy Quynh takes a photo with his relatives
The exhibition features 24 oil paintings and 12 large-scale lacquer paintings, clearly demonstrating the personal style of artist Pham Duy Quynh. Each portrait tells a story, a slice, through which the artist expresses his emotions and concerns about the community and society.
Pham Duy Quynh, born in 1985, is a studious artist with a passion for painting. This is the author's first solo exhibition after 9 years of struggling through many group exhibitions and festivals.

At the opening ceremony, artist Pham Duy Quynh shared the inspiration for his works. Some materials are close to the author, such as the image of his grandmother, while others are from his experiences and encounters in life. All of these have been nurtured and conveyed by the artist in each line.
The character of the grandmother is portrayed by the author through the work.
The works marked the author’s shift to pure folk materials, along with a surrealist-expressionist perspective. Each work at the exhibition expressed love and affection for the community, especially the protection of the elderly and children. The paintings with affectionate names such as “My Grandmother” and “Little Snow” all conveyed the author’s sincere feelings.
The interweaving of images makes the works unique.
The series of surrealist-expressionist paintings contain many of the artist’s thoughts. Each painting incorporates images from the real past and many happy and miserable fates. The works are made of lacquer and oil, so they are more symbolic and realistic for the viewer.
In addition, the author also exploited traditional materials, bringing new national colors. This has made the work a blend of traditional and contemporary colors.
