The HBSF Billiards Tournament, Phase 2, 2025, will take place from July 31 to August 5 at the Sports Service Center ( Phu Tho Ward, Ho Chi Minh City). This is a high-quality billiards tournament organized by the Ho Chi Minh City Billiards & Snooker Federation (HBSF), which has affirmed its position in the billiards community over the years and is likened to the "World Cup of Vietnamese billiards". Phase 2 will be organized with 4 events: men's 3-cushion carom, women's 3-cushion carom, men's 9-cushion pool and women's 9-cushion pool, attracting nearly 500 players (with the participation of top Vietnamese players and international guests). Of which, the event that received the most attention was 3-cushion carom. The tournament cannot be without the top names of Vietnamese 3-cushion billiards at the moment such as Tran Quyet Chien, Tran Thanh Luc, Bao Phuong Vinh, Chiem Hong Thai.

According to the tournament rules, the players in the top 16 of the HBSF rankings will compete from round 3 of the main round. Quyet Chien, Thanh Luc, Phuong Vinh, Hong Thai are all in the top 16 of the HBSF rankings. In round 3 of the main round, 32 players are divided equally into 8 groups, competing in a round robin to calculate points and rank. The top two players in each group will win tickets to the round of 16, quarterfinals, semi-finals and finals to compete for the championship.
Tran Quyet Chien is the most successful 3-cushion carom player in Vietnam, currently holding 4 World Cup billiards championships.

Currently, the 3-cushion carom content of the HBSF Billiards Tournament Round 2 is in the qualifying round. The qualifying round has 128 players competing, playing a knockout match to select 16 names to enter the main round. These 16 names will be arranged to compete in groups with the athletes with high rankings on the leaderboard. In turn, the athletes must pass round 1, round 2 to participate in round 3 - where the top players such as Quyet Chien, Thanh Luc ... appear.
The tournament attracted attention not only because of the large number of athletes participating, with high professional quality, but also because of the attractive prize structure. Specifically, the men's 3-cushion carom event led in terms of prize money with a total of 240 million VND. The champion received 50 million VND, the runner-up received 20 million VND, and the two third-place players received 15 million VND each. The 3-cushion carom event also had two secondary prizes: "best game" (the match with the highest score/cue) and best series, each receiving 5 million VND.
In particular, stage 2 also marked an important turning point when HBSF implemented the update of athlete data to complete management records, better support players in professional activities, tournaments and billiards movement development. Updating athlete data helps to manage athletes accurately and scientifically , helping athletes have complete and professional data records to: approve participation in official tournaments, ensure rights in movement activities, training and rewarding players...
