In the 2024-2025 school year, the city will continue to maintain the student assessment program according to international standards; effectively implement breakthrough projects and programs, take the lead in bringing international certificates in English and Information Technology to schools; organize many activities to prepare for the Project "Gradually bringing English to become the second language in schools" according to Conclusion 91/KL-TW of the Politburo .
In addition, digital transformation is being implemented synchronously throughout the industry. The educational geographic information system (GIS) is being deployed by 100% of localities in enrollment for primary classes.

In addition to the achievements, the education sector also faces many difficulties. By the end of the 2024-2025 school year, the planning and management of the school network, facilities, and teaching equipment have not kept up with development needs.
The number of students per class is still higher than the regulation; the rate of students studying 2 sessions per day has not met the target; modern teaching equipment has not been invested in synchronously and promptly.
In addition, the team of managers, teachers and staff is still lacking in quantity and not uniform in structure; some of them do not meet the requirements of foreign language and IT proficiency, leading to failure to keep up with the requirements of innovation in education and international integration.
At the year-end conference, the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Education and Training called on the entire sector to support people affected by floods caused by storms No. 4 and No. 5.
"Every contribution at this time, no matter how small or large, is invaluable. It is not only material support, but also human love, a great source of spiritual encouragement to help people and especially students in flooded areas to return to school soon and continue their learning journey," said Nguyen Van Hieu, Director of the Department of Education and Training of Ho Chi Minh City.
In the 2025-2026 school year, Ho Chi Minh City will put into use 1,434 new classrooms with a total budget of more than 4,500 billion VND from the state budget. In addition, 180 classrooms invested from socialized sources will be put into operation, ensuring 100% of school places for children in the area.

3. Continue to innovate and improve the quality of preschool education, general education and continuing education.
4. Improve the quality, standardize and develop the team of teachers and educational managers at all levels.
5. Innovate political and ideological education; national defense and security education for teachers and students.
6. Continue to build a happy school model.
7. Strengthen physical education, sports activities, and school health; ensure school safety, proactively prevent, combat, and effectively respond to natural disasters and epidemics.
8. Improve the quality of human resource training, modernize vocational education.
9. Strengthening international integration in education and training.
10. Promote comprehensive digital transformation, strongly apply digital technology and artificial intelligence in education and training; continue to implement administrative reforms throughout the industry.
11. Increase investment in facilities to ensure the implementation of preschool and general education programs; attract and effectively use investment resources for education to ensure effective implementation of the 2018 General Education Program.
