On the morning of June 17, within the framework of the Vietnam - Japan Cultural - Trade Exchange Program in Can Tho City (from June 17 to 18), an Investment and Trade Promotion Workshop for Japanese enterprises took place.

Speaking at the workshop, Vice Chairman of Can Tho City People's Committee Nguyen Van Hong said that Can Tho City currently has 6 direct investment projects from Japan with a total registered capital of 1.35 billion USD, leading in the amount of registered investment capital in the city.

"The workshop has brought Can Tho City a new opportunity to turn aspirations into beliefs, into reality, welcoming potential Japanese investors to Can Tho City to cooperate and develop together in the coming time," Vice Chairman of Can Tho City People's Committee Nguyen Van Hong emphasized.

At the workshop, Can Tho City introduced its potentials, strengths, and investment cooperation opportunities in the fields of supporting industry, processing industry, manufacturing, high technology, and logistics, including key projects.

Ms. OGAWA Megumi, Deputy Consul General of Japan in Ho Chi Minh City, said that for Japanese enterprises, the first attraction of Can Tho City is the high-quality human resources from Can Tho University, the top university in the country in the fields of agriculture , aquaculture and environment. Currently, there are several Japanese enterprises investing in Can Tho City in the field of food processing.
