According to RT , Russian media reported on August 24 that Russian President Vladimir Putin will make a four-day visit to China next week to hold talks with President Xi Jinping.
Vesti 1 newspaper quoted Kremlin journalist Pavel Zarubin as saying that during his upcoming visit to China, President Putin will attend the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) summit in Tianjin, and “large-scale negotiations” between delegations are also planned.
This visit is said to be Mr. Putin's longest foreign trip since 2014.

However, Vesti 1 did not specify the exact time of President Putin's arrival in China. It is known that the SCO summit is scheduled to begin on August 31 and last for two days. In addition, China will also hold many large-scale events on September 3 to commemorate the 80th anniversary of the victory over Nazi Japan in World War II.
Previously, in May 2025, Secretary of the Russian Security Council Sergey Shoigu said that President Putin would visit China in September to attend events commemorating the 80th anniversary of the victory over Japanese fascism in World War II.
"Russian President Putin will visit China in September," Shoigu said.
