General Secretary and President To Lam meets with officials and staff of the Vietnamese representative agency in the United States

On the evening of September 23 local time, within the framework of the working trip to attend the High-level Week of the 79th United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) and work with the United States, General Secretary andPresident To Lam and the high-ranking Vietnamese delegation had a friendly meeting with officials and staff of the Embassy, the Permanent Mission to the United Nations and other representative agencies of Vietnam.

Vietnamese Ambassador to the United States Nguyen Quoc Dung; Ambassador, Head of the Permanent Mission of Vietnam to the United Nations Dang Hoang Giang; Vietnamese Consul General in San Francisco Hoang Anh Tuan; Vietnamese Consul General in Houston Hoang Thuy Duong expressed their joy and honor to welcome the General Secretary , President and his wife, along with the high-ranking Vietnamese delegation; thanked the General Secretary and President for taking the time to talk to and encourage the officials and staff of the representative agencies despite his busy schedule.

Reporting to the General Secretary and President on the operations of representative agencies in the United States, one of the most important locations in the country's foreign policy, the comrades said that the staff of the representative agencies always maintain a spirit of solidarity, devote themselves to work and the common goals of the country, always play a bridging role in the diplomatic relations between the two countries, actively perform their tasks, thoroughly grasp and apply the foreign policy of the Party and State, participate in successfully organizing bilateral meetings and promotion activities, support businessmen and intellectuals, and contribute to promoting relations between the two countries in many fields.

The Ambassadors and Consuls General emphasized that the working trip of the General Secretary and President has helped to further consolidate Vietnam's position and role at international forums, substantially promoting the well-developed relationship between Vietnam and the United States; at the same time, they pledged to continue to promote collective strength, grasp the locality, carry out foreign affairs well, and advise the Party and State to make appropriate decisions, promote and support cooperation activities in various fields between the two countries, as well as community issues.

Speaking intimately with Vietnamese officials, the General Secretary and President said that this working trip of the delegation is of utmost importance in implementing the foreign affairs plan of the Party and State and has so far achieved positive results, serving the development of the country; demonstrating an independent and autonomous foreign policy, actively contributing to maintaining peace, stability and the common development of the world.

The General Secretary and President acknowledged and highly appreciated the efforts of the staff of Vietnamese representative agencies in the United States to complete important assigned tasks, promoting the increasingly developing cooperative relationship between the two countries.

The General Secretary and President affirmed that the United States is one of the key areas in Vietnam's foreign policy and a very vibrant and potential market for domestic enterprises. The upgrading of the relationship between the two countries to a comprehensive strategic partnership has contributed to making the relationship between the two countries increasingly substantive and in-depth in all areas, from politics, trade, investment to security and defense.

The upgrading of Vietnam-US relations to Comprehensive Strategic Partnership poses new requirements, requiring embassy staff to constantly strive to meet increasingly high demands.

Sharing and agreeing with the recommendations and proposals of the Embassy, Delegation and Consulates General, the President expressed his confidence that the cadres and staff in the area will continue to focus on best performing the tasks assigned by the Party, State and people.
