General Secretary To Lam appreciated the fact that the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, General Secretary and President Xi Jinping sent Mr. Zhao Leji as a high-ranking representative of the Party and State of China to attend the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day on September 2 and sent military personnel to attend the parade.

Sharing about the great and historic achievements that Vietnam has made over the past 80 years, the General Secretary affirmed that the Party, State and people of Vietnam always remember and are grateful for the great, righteous and wholehearted help of the Communist Party of China and the brotherly Chinese people.
Vietnam and China maintain stability and develop relations between the two parties and two countries in line with the "6 more" direction, in which the relationship between the Vietnamese National Assembly and the Chinese National People's Congress is increasingly substantive and profound.
The General Secretary said that the two countries need to unite closely and walk hand in hand towards socialism; Vietnam always considers developing relations with China an objective requirement, a strategic choice, and a top priority in foreign policy.


Chairman Trieu Lac Te congratulated Vietnam on the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day, congratulated Vietnam on its outstanding development achievements, increasingly enhanced international position and prestige, and improved people's lives.
China attaches great importance to the China-Vietnam Comprehensive Strategic Partnership and the Community of Shared Future, which has strategic significance, and always considers this a priority direction in its neighborly diplomacy.

The General Secretary hopes that the legislative bodies of the two countries will play their role in promoting higher-level connectivity between the two economies, giving top priority to railway cooperation, promoting trade development in a balanced and sustainable direction, and further opening up each other's markets.

Regarding the East Sea issue, the General Secretary suggested that both sides continue to better control and resolve disagreements, put themselves in each other's shoes, respect each other's legitimate interests, and jointly maintain a peaceful and stable environment.
Chairman Zhao Leji affirmed that China is willing to work with Vietnam to strengthen political trust, deepen substantive cooperation, strengthen strategic connectivity between the two economies, and enhance cooperation in the fields of culture, education, tourism, and people-to-people exchange.
In addition, the two sides will properly control and better resolve disagreements; together maintain peace and stability at sea, creating a favorable environment for the development of each country.

This afternoon, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man held talks with Chairman of the Chinese National People's Congress Zhao Leji.

The National Assembly Chairman emphasized that Mr. Trieu Lac Te's visit was even more meaningful as it took place during the "Vietnam - China Humanitarian Exchange Year", commemorating the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries.
Chairman Trieu Lac Te said that as friendly neighbors, the two countries have stood side by side during the years of fighting for independence and national liberation and learned from each other in the process of building socialism in each country, creating a comradely friendship.

In a friendly and sincere atmosphere, the two sides appreciated the good progress of Vietnam-China relations, in which cooperation between the two legislative bodies plays an important role.
The two leaders agreed to effectively implement high-level common perceptions, strengthen political trust, maintain regular meetings at all levels, and promote increasingly effective and substantive cooperation between the two countries' legislative bodies. The two sides also coordinated in building a transparent legal and policy corridor, creating favorable conditions for the governments, businesses and people of the two countries to increase exchanges and cooperation.

The National Assembly Chairman proposed promoting parliamentary cooperation to become an important pillar of bilateral relations, worthy of the new level of trust between the two countries; organizing meetings of the Inter-Parliamentary Cooperation Committee every two years, increasing exchanges of delegations at all levels of the National Assembly, National Assembly deputies, and local People's Council delegations of the two countries; supporting each other at regional and international inter-parliamentary forums.
He also suggested that the Chinese National People's Congress pay attention to and support the two countries in implementing cooperation in key areas such as railways, trade, and local investment cooperation.

Chairman Zhao Leji said that China is willing to enhance political trust, maintain high-level exchanges; carry out exchanges and share experiences in party management and national governance; improve the quality and effectiveness of substantive cooperation, including connecting the Belt and Road Initiative with the Two Corridors, One Belt Initiative, and cooperating in building three standard-gauge railway lines connecting the two countries.

The two sides discussed maritime issues, agreed to implement high-level common perceptions, coordinate to properly handle maritime issues, and maintain a peaceful and stable environment.
After the talks, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man and Chairman of the National People's Congress of China Zhao Leji co-chaired the first meeting of the Cooperation Committee between the National Assembly of Vietnam and the National People's Congress of China.
