Candidates do not have to "weigh their brains" to choose
Candidate Truong Nguyen CT used his high school graduation exam results, academic transcripts, and foreign language certificates to apply for admission to the University of Economics , University of Danang.
Before the 2025 university and college admission regulations were released, Ms. Nguyen Thi Hanh, parent of Truong Nguyen CT, said that her family planned to register for early admission using the school's own admission method using academic records and foreign language certificates.
"Learning from the experiences of previous students, we found it necessary to compare the criteria between methods to consider the advantages. This is a difficulty when forcing candidates to choose the method that they think has more advantages. While we ourselves cannot know the general level of all candidates applying to the school," Ms. Hanh analyzed.

With the changes in the 2025 University and College Admissions Regulations, Truong Nguyen CT uses both high school graduation exam scores and academic transcripts and foreign language certificates for admission. Not having to consider which method to choose, for CT, has helped make the admission registration process less stressful and cumbersome. "There are as many methods as can meet the admission requirements, I just apply for them all, not having to calculate which is higher or lower is less of a headache," CT shared.
Truong Nguyen CT was admitted to the Business Administration, Standard Program of the University of Economics, Danang University with the graduation exam score as desired.
Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Hong Hai, Vice Principal of the University of Science and Technology, Danang University, said that it is an advantage for candidates not to care about which admission method to prioritize but to be able to make the most of the admission method they have.
"All methods are implemented by the admission system once, which also ensures the rights of candidates. It is necessary to recognize that some universities reserve more quotas for early admission methods to ensure a firm grasp of the recruitment source. Therefore, when candidates use high school graduation exam results for admission, there are no more quotas. This is a disadvantage for students in terms of high school graduation exam results compared to having the same common measure in assessment", the Vice Principal of the University of Science and Technology, University of Danang analyzed.
Reduce the virtual rate from a common admission round
According to Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Hong Hai, organizing the same admission round for all methods will give better virtual filtering results than conducting early admission and admission based on high school graduation exam results like previous years.
"With early admission, even if a candidate is admitted, the school still does not know whether they will use their high school graduation exam results for further admission. Therefore, when calling for admission, schools must calculate the reserve rate due to the large number of virtual candidates," Mr. Hai gave an example.
Not to mention, if viewed from the psychological perspective of candidates, when the admission exam is held at the same time, students will focus more on the High School Graduation Exam, not be subjective because they have early admission results, creating a solid foundation in terms of knowledge when transferring to the university environment.
"The confusion in the first year of implementing the same admission round for all methods is inevitable. But in terms of the rights of candidates and the virtual filtering results, it is still necessary to maintain this method for the following years," the Vice President of the University of Science and Technology, University of Danang suggested.
According to Mr. Hai, the school can take the initiative in its admission plan, not depending too much on the separate exams of other educational institutions; building a formula to convert the scores of different methods to the same scientific and suitable scale will not encounter many problems. Therefore, it is necessary to unify the conversion formula between schools, and need common standards to be able to handle it on the same system.
