TikTok rolls out legal training for sellers and creators

On June 25 in Hanoi, the Center for E-commerce and Digital Technology Development ( Ministry of Industry and Trade ) and TikTok Shop officially launched the Legal Training Program in E-commerce called "Long-term Business - Starting with the Law."

The program will be held monthly, flexibly combining in-person and online training, reaching the community of sellers and TikTok Shop creators nationwide.

As part of a long-term cooperation strategy between the Ministry of Industry and Trade and TikTok Shop to support local businesses, small traders, KOLs, KOCs and young workers to improve their understanding of legal and tax issues in e-commerce.

The program brings together leading experts from the Center for E-commerce and Digital Technology Development (Department of E-commerce and Digital Economy - Ministry of Industry and Trade), the E-commerce Tax Administration Department (General Department of Taxation - Ministry of Finance ), and the TikTok Shop team.

The first training class in the series took place at TikTok Creator House, Hanoi, attracting the participation of more than 700 affiliate marketers and creators.

Mr. Nguyen Huu Tuan - Director of the Center for E-commerce and Digital Technology Development said: “Creativity is the key but sustainability lies in ethics and compliance with the law. Business ethics is a commitment to transparency with customers. Compliance with the law is the pillar of creating a fair and transparent e-commerce environment. We especially emphasize the importance of a correct and complete understanding of the law, tax obligations and honest advertising - factors that determine reputation and long-term development."

Deployed in the context of rapid development of e-commerce activities in Vietnam, it poses an urgent need to support core subjects in the e-commerce ecosystem to improve their understanding and compliance with e-commerce laws.

The training program content is systematically designed, providing basic legal knowledge and practical skills through the following main topics: Overview of e-commerce law in Vietnam; Tax policies and obligations in e-commerce; Policies from TikTok Shop to improve the quality of sales content and shopping experience; and Support services for e-invoices for business households in the new business context.

The program is expected to have a dual impact, on the one hand helping businesses operate effectively and legally, on the other hand strengthening consumer confidence in the e-commerce platform. When regulations are followed and information is transparent, consumers will have a safe and positive shopping experience, creating momentum for sustainable development for all parties.

With specific and practical action plans from state management agencies, expertise from experts and strong commitment from TikTok Shop, the program promises to form a dynamic, creative, professional and responsible digital business community, contributing positively to the strong and transparent development of Vietnam's digital economy./.
