Local people call Lang Song Minor Seminary Lang Song Church or Long Song Church. The minor seminary is a place to train young children (elementary school) to become long-term servants of the church, different from the major seminary (training people from 18 years old and up).

Lang Song Seminary was founded by Bishop Stephano Cuénot The between 1841 and 1850 to train priests for the churches. The printing house here was established in 1864 and operated until 1935. The printing house's publications served religious, educational , and communication needs, contributing to the development of the national language in many genres.

In 1922, Lang Song printing house printed 18,000 periodicals, 1,000 copies of various books, 32,000 other publications, of which Loi Tham alone had two issues per month, 1,500 copies each, and was distributed throughout Indochina.

Currently, according to the documents displayed here, there are 239 remaining books of the printing house stored in the national library. It can be said that this is an extremely valuable source of documents and marks Binh Dinh with the history of the development of the national language.

Lang Song not only has sediments and cultural stories but is also an interesting tourist destination for visitors from near and far. From Quy Nhon City, after passing 7 bridges (from Ha Thanh 1 to Ha Thanh 7), you will arrive at Lang Song Seminary. The church has been renovated many times but still retains the red roof marking the passage of time.

The architecture of the two buildings on both sides, the kitchen behind and the cathedral in the middle of the entrance, on the green grass and birds singing in harmony on the ancient trees. With the cool green space of the trees combined with the ancient features of a Gothic architecture, it will make you think you are somewhere in Europe hundreds of years ago.

I clasped my hands in front of my chest to show my respect and gratitude to our ancestors, those who opened up the land, enlightened the people, and preserved the culture for generations of Vietnamese people. A nun asked me about my surroundings and then took me around the church’s 2,000 square meter campus and told me about the history of the development of Quy Nhon diocese. And I realized many things from this emotional trip.

Before leaving, I added the new name “Song Village” to my son’s summer bucket list. Surely, we will have peaceful summer afternoons, sitting and listening to the wind blowing from the fields.

I will tell you about the journey of the national language and teach you gratitude for the generations of creation and preservation, so that today, we can understand more deeply the land that we have loved and attached to so much.
