Continue to speed up the progress of the Provincial General Hospital Construction Project

Reporting at the meeting, the leader of the Provincial Civil and Industrial Project Management Board said that by mid-August 2025, the Provincial General Hospital Project (Korean ODA capital) had completed the foundation construction and was implementing the rough construction. The volume of implementation reached more than 10.7% of the contract, equivalent to over 27.8 billion VND. The disbursement work has been accelerated, currently implemented to phase 4, preparing for phase 5 with a value of about 21.5 billion VND.

Regarding equipment, the medical equipment procurement package has bid 413 items, after screening there are 112 with a value of more than 101 billion VND. The bidding documents are being completed in bilingual to be submitted to the Korea Export-Import Bank for appraisal. The hospital management software package is in the stage of adding domestic consultants for detailed design and cost estimates.

By 2025, the project will basically complete the rough construction and begin initial equipment installation, with an estimated volume value of about 400 billion VND.

However, progress is still slow due to complicated procedures, multiple appraisal requests from the sponsor, and lack of coordination among some consulting units, so the project is likely not to be completed on time.

At the inspection, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee - Nguyen Truc Son highly appreciated the efforts of the construction unit in closely following the construction plan during the 7 months of project construction. At the same time, he paid special attention to the difficulties of the project, especially the disbursement work to ensure the project is completed on schedule, and the equipment procurement package.

The Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee requested relevant parties to make efforts to complete the project implementation as planned; pay attention to close coordination, ensure timely disbursement and payment. Strengthen supervision and inspection to promptly detect and handle arising issues; supervise and support contractors, review procedures and requirements to ensure project completion. Periodically report on implementation progress and remaining issues.

“This is a key project of great significance to the people of Ben Tre province, now Vinh Long province. The members are aware of the seriousness of the project situation and need urgent measures to ensure the project is completed on schedule,” emphasized Vice Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee Nguyen Truc Son.
