In 2014, Dr. Phuong successfully selected and created two new specialty fragrant rice varieties, ST22 and ST23. Thanks to the high quality, the export price of ST rice has reached 900 USD/ton, double the price of regular exported rice. The results of the selection and creation of ST fragrant rice varieties have contributed to the development of the specialty rice area of ​​Soc Trang province in 2014-2015 to nearly 100,000 hectares, of which ST rice accounts for 34% of the area.
