The truth about Sun Wukong's "somescule cloud" appearing in Indonesia

Báo Dân tríBáo Dân trí22/11/2024

(Dan Tri) - A strange phenomenon occurred in Indonesia when a white cloud-like mass "fell to the ground". The video of the incident quickly attracted the attention of the online community.

This phenomenon occurred in the Muara Tuhup mining area (Murung Raya district, Central Kalimantan, Indonesia).

The video, recorded by workers at the mine on November 15, quickly went viral on social media, with many worried that it was a manifestation of climate change.

However, according to the Indonesian Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG), this is not a natural cloud but rather water vapor or condensed gas caused by mining activities.

VOI news site quoted Mr. Andri Ramdhani - Director of BMKG - as saying: "This phenomenon is not a natural cloud but is most likely the condensation of water vapor or gas released from mining areas."

Mr. Andri explained that natural cloud particles are very light and dispersed with low density, cannot maintain a solid shape and fall to the ground.

According to Mr. Andri, natural clouds are collections of very small water droplets or ice crystals, suspended in the atmosphere with the help of air currents. Normally, cloud particles will evaporate before reaching the ground.

In this case, the strange "cloud" appeared due to high pressure air escaping from mining operations, combined with low temperature and high humidity conditions, creating a favorable environment for water vapor to condense into a denser mass.

When the density of this vapor mass is higher than the surrounding air, it moves down to lower areas due to the effect of gravity, creating the effect of the cloud "falling".

Miners were even able to touch this strange cloud (Photo: Screenshot).

“Although it may appear to be touchable or grippable, it is actually just a temporary mass of steam,” Andri added.

BMKG stressed that this phenomenon is not dangerous and is not an abnormal sign of nature. Mr. Andri said that local people in Murung Raya do not need to worry because this phenomenon is only temporary and does not leave a significant impact.

However, the appearance of the "falling cloud" has attracted a series of interesting speculations and comments on social networks. Some people humorously called it the "divine cloud" of Sun Wukong when using the somersault cloud technique, while others associated it with the "vehicle of transportation" of the character Son Goku in the famous animated series Dragon Ball.
