Based on the orientation of sustainable economic development, the Provincial People's Committee has directed departments and branches to proactively monitor the socio-economic situation, regularly review and propose practical policies to support businesses and business households. The province aims to achieve a growth rate of 8% or more in the gross regional domestic product (GRDP) by 2025. To realize the set goals, the province focuses on key solutions such as: Perfecting institutions, reforming administration, improving the investment environment through simplifying procedures, developing online public services and building a friendly and effective administration. At the same time, promoting investment in socio-economic infrastructure, promoting disbursement of public investment capital and supporting businesses in key areas such as processing industry, high-tech agriculture, import and export.
By May 2025, the province had more than 2,154 enterprises, of which over 60% were operating stably. The collective economic sector is gradually flourishing with more than 451 cooperatives, with a total registered capital exceeding VND 1,000 billion, gradually affirming its role in developing production and consumption of rural products. With the majority of enterprises belonging to small and micro-sized groups, the province has proactively promoted production models according to value chains, linked to local advantages. Thanks to that, many effective linkage models between enterprises - farmers - cooperatives have been formed, helping to increase income and create jobs on the spot, especially in remote areas. Since the beginning of 2025, the province has promoted consumer stimulus activities and supported over 70 businesses and cooperatives to participate in domestic and international fairs in Da Nang, Hanoi , the Netherlands, Belgium, etc. At the same time, it has organized a market for ethnic minorities and mountainous areas (from May 2-3, 2025) and a Goods Week in Ho Chi Minh City (from May 16-8, 2025)... Thereby promoting local specialties, expanding the market and building an increasingly strong Cao Bang brand.
One of the strategic priorities identified is to promote the disbursement of public investment capital, especially for key infrastructure projects. The Dong Dang - Tra Linh expressway project and border gate connection routes are being urgently implemented to remove bottlenecks in freight transport, reduce logistics costs and create trade leverage between Cao Bang and China and other provinces in the country. The systematic investment in infrastructure not only opens up market access opportunities for small businesses but also affirms Cao Bang's strategic role in inter-regional economic connectivity. Taking advantage of its geographical location, Cao Bang is gradually forming a border business ecosystem. The province has proactively upgraded its logistics system, border gate markets, cold storage, and wharves in border areas such as Ta Lung, Tra Linh - Long Bang, Soc Giang, etc. This direction not only promotes import and export activities but also creates the premise for the formation of industry clusters associated with ethnic culture, developing community tourism and highland specialty products.
Banking activities in the province are also stable. Credit institutions have been focusing capital on priority areas such as small and medium enterprises, agriculture - rural areas, border economy, tourism - services, while effectively implementing social policy credit programs, sustainable poverty reduction and new rural construction. Thanks to that, many businesses and production households have had access to preferential capital to invest in machinery, expand production and apply technology to processing and consuming key agricultural products such as vermicelli, tea, peanuts, medicinal herbs, etc. In addition to efforts to promote production, Cao Bang has also actively applied digital transformation to improve the competitiveness of businesses. Many OCOP products and local specialties have been put on domestic and foreign e-commerce platforms, helping to expand the market and reach consumers more easily. Enterprises are supported with management software and digital tools to help manage effectively, improve productivity and reduce costs, contributing to raising the brand of Cao Bang goods in the context of global competition. In the first 5 months of 2025, total retail sales of goods and services, import and export turnover continued to increase; state budget revenue in the area increased by 102% over the same period, in particular, import and export revenue exceeded the estimate assigned by the Provincial People's Council by 46%.
