Prime Minister: Vietnam will host APEC 2027 more successfully than the previous two times

Speaking at the announcement ceremony, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Bui Thanh Son - Chairman of the APEC 2027 National Committee - said: The two successful hostings in 2006 and 2017 are a solid foundation for Vietnam to confidently enter APEC 2027 with a new vision, high determination and aspiration for breakthrough.

This will be an important test to affirm Vietnam's leading position and adaptability to transform challenges into opportunities, turn vision into concrete actions, and bring APEC into a new period of development.

According to the Deputy Prime Minister , to successfully organize APEC Year 2027, in terms of roadmap, it is necessary to determine 2025 as the year to comprehensively launch preparation work, 2026 as the year to basically complete it, and 2027 as the year to successfully host the activities.

APEC 2027 will have more than 150 conferences and meetings. Therefore, in addition to Phu Quoc (An Giang) - the host of APEC Summit Week, the most important event of the year - it is necessary to proactively coordinate to review and upgrade infrastructure, identify venues for Ministerial Conferences, Senior Officials' Conferences and other activities.

Vietnam needs to increase consultation, information exchange and close coordination with APEC member economies, especially South Korea - host of APEC 2025 and China - host of APEC 2026, Mexico - host of APEC 2028...

Representative of APEC 2025 host - Korean Ambassador to Vietnam Choi Young Sam acknowledged that every 10 years, Vietnam successfully hosts an APEC. This has demonstrated Vietnam's leading role in promoting peace, stability and common prosperity in the Asia-Pacific region. Korea will cooperate closely with relevant parties, especially Vietnam.

The Ambassador affirmed that Korea fully believes that Vietnam will continue to promote its leadership role in APEC 2027 and will support Vietnam in this process, with the hope that Vietnam "will once again shine in the international and regional arena".

With Vietnam hosting APEC in 2027, all parties clearly recognize Vietnam's role and Vietnam will continue to contribute to the prosperity and development of the Asia-Pacific region.

China has received Vietnam's support in hosting the APEC forum in 2026 and China also supports Vietnam in hosting APEC 2027.
