Our Party and State have no other greater goal than to maintain the independence and freedom of the Fatherland, to bring an increasingly happy and prosperous life to the people, so we would rather sacrifice everything than lose our country, than become slaves as President Ho Chi Minh affirmed.
To gain independence, freedom and happiness, there has been the blood and bones of countless heroic martyrs, wounded soldiers, and fellow soldiers. Today, our country and our people still suffer the consequences of war every day with unexploded bombs, and Agent Orange continues to cause pain.
Therefore, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh hopes that the Party Committee, the government, the Fatherland Front, socio-political organizations and the people will continue to unite, strive to contribute to the country's rapid and sustainable development, bringing the country into a new era - an era of national prosperity and civilization; worthy of the people's wishes and the sacrifices of our heroes, martyrs, comrades and compatriots.

* Immediately after the memorial service, memorial service, and burial of the remains of Vietnamese martyrs and experts who died in the Kingdom of Cambodia, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh visited, talked with, and gave gifts to encourage the team searching for and collecting the remains of martyrs of Military Region 9.
The Prime Minister pointed out that in the resistance wars for national salvation and international duties, we have more than 1.2 million martyrs, of whom more than 300,000 people have not been fully identified. The whole country has about 652,000 wounded soldiers, 198,000 sick soldiers, and more than 132,000 heroic Vietnamese mothers. The whole country has more than 300,000 people affected by Agent Orange/dioxin…
The Prime Minister affirmed that our country has never had the foundation, potential, position and international prestige as today, thanks to the efforts of the entire nation, including the dedication and sacrifice of previous generations, those who have fallen. The war has ended, but many remains of martyrs still lie on the former battlefields, both in the country and on foreign lands. Countless families still wait day and night for information about the graves and remains of their brothers and sisters so that they can be brought back to their homeland for burial in the bosom of Mother Earth.
The Party and State pay special attention to the search and collection of martyrs' remains, clearly defining it as the responsibility of all levels, sectors, units, localities and the entire political system, expressing deep gratitude to the outstanding children who sacrificed, demonstrating the traditional morality of "drinking water, remembering its source", "repaying gratitude and repaying kindness" of our nation. This heavy but also very glorious and sacred responsibility is entrusted by the Party and State to the National Steering Committee 515, the Ministry of National Defense, local Party committees and authorities and the forces searching for and collecting martyrs' remains of military units.
This is a work of special importance, deeply humane, expressing gratitude and deep appreciation to the heroes and martyrs for the independence and freedom of the nation, for the noble international duty, for peace, stability and development in the Southeast Asian region.
Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh was moved to know that, despite having to carry out the mission with very limited information about the martyrs' burial places; in the conditions where the martyrs' graves are mainly located in remote areas, with difficult and rugged terrain, harsh climate, sacred forests, poisonous water, and some places still have remaining bombs and mines; the terrain and topography have changed...; however, the officers and soldiers of the search teams have made great efforts and determination, overcoming difficulties and challenges to successfully complete the assigned tasks.

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh was particularly moved and highly appreciated the efforts and contributions of the officers and soldiers of Military Region 9, including Teams K90, K91, K92, K93, who did not fear hardships and dangers, silently wading streams, climbing passes, crossing forests, "overcoming the sun, overcoming the rain, not losing to storms", "barefoot and with a will of steel" to excellently complete the sacred mission assigned by the Party, State and people. Many collectives and individuals of the Teams searching for and collecting martyrs' remains have been recognized by our Party, State and other countries with many noble awards.
The results achieved demonstrate the affection, responsibility and dedication of comrades towards the generation of fathers and brothers who heroically sacrificed. The Prime Minister was very moved and admired when he learned that, in the process of carrying out the mission, there were comrades who were injured, suffered from serious illnesses, and even sacrificed. However, with affection, responsibility and high political determination, the comrades always deeply understood the mission, were ready to go anywhere, do any task, overcome all difficulties, hardships and sacrifices to successfully complete this mission of profound human significance.
On behalf of the Party and State leaders, the Prime Minister acknowledged and especially appreciated the efforts, determination and achievements in the search and collection of martyrs' remains of Military Region 9; at the same time, highly appreciated and warmly commended the efforts and achievements of all officers and soldiers of the Search and Collection Teams of Martyrs' Remains across the country - those who day and night stick to the area, silently doing the noble, meaningful and difficult and arduous work. The Party, State and people always acknowledge and appreciate the silent but great contributions of comrades.
Sharing and expressing deep sympathy with the families of martyrs - who for years have been anxiously waiting for the day when their loved ones' remains can be returned to the Motherland, the Prime Minister affirmed that the Party and State will continue to do their utmost, mobilizing the entire political system and the entire society to more effectively carry out the work of searching, gathering and identifying martyrs, so that no martyr is forgotten, and no martyr's family has to wait in vain.
To more effectively carry out the work of searching for and collecting martyrs' remains, meeting the aspirations of martyrs' relatives and families in the coming time, the Prime Minister requested Party committees, authorities, and Steering Committees 515 at all levels to continue to thoroughly grasp the Party and State's guidelines and policies; closely follow reality, closely coordinate and synchronize in organizing the implementation of tasks; and mobilize maximum resources and participation of the whole society and the entire political system.
Along with that, promote propaganda and mobilize people, especially veterans, ethnic minorities in resistance bases, remote areas, etc. to provide information about martyrs' graves. At the same time, strengthen the application of technology, connect information, decode combat unit symbols to serve the work of identifying the identity and burial location of remains.
The Prime Minister requested to continue strengthening international cooperation, especially with the Cambodian government and people, to facilitate the search and repatriation work in the neighboring country; to do well in people-to-people diplomacy, to mobilize forces, organizations and individuals to support, coordinate and provide information.
The Prime Minister also directed to pay more attention to the material and spiritual life of officers and soldiers performing the task of gathering; ensure full regimes and policies; promptly commend and reward collectives and individuals with high responsibility, specific efficiency, and outstanding achievements; create motivation for the force to continue to firmly step on this journey of solidarity.
For the forces directly carrying out the task of searching for and collecting martyrs’ remains, the Prime Minister hopes that you will always uphold a high sense of responsibility, be proactive, overcome difficulties; carry out your duties, do a good job of mass mobilization, propaganda, and mobilization to collect information about martyrs and martyrs’ graves. You will strictly carry out military diplomacy and people’s diplomacy when performing tasks in neighboring countries; participate in movements to help people eliminate hunger, reduce poverty, and prevent and combat natural disasters… in the country and when working abroad.
Along with that, the units cooperated in searching for and returning the remains of soldiers from other countries who went missing during the war, demonstrating the humanitarian spirit of our country and contributing to easing the pain of war; contributing to further beautifying and strongly spreading the image of "Uncle Ho's soldiers" to the people and international friends.
Emphasizing that searching for and collecting martyrs' remains is not only a responsibility but also an order from the heart that urges those who are performing the task. The Prime Minister hopes and believes that, with the profound humanistic tradition, the morality of "remembering the source of water when drinking", "remembering the person who planted the tree when eating the fruit", "national love, compatriots' love", with high determination and support from the entire Party, people and army, in the coming time, the force searching for and collecting martyrs' remains will continue to promote the sense of responsibility, the experiences they have, strive to overcome all difficulties and challenges to excellently complete the assigned tasks; contribute to easing the pain of war, and fulfill their duty to those who have fallen./.
