The working trip to attend the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) - Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Summit and visit Saudi Arabia by Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and the Vietnamese high-ranking delegation took place from October 18-20, 2023 at the invitation of Saudi Arabian King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud.

Welcoming Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and the Vietnamese delegation at the airport, on the Saudi Arabia side were the Governor of Riyadh city, the Mayor of Riyadh city, the Saudi Arabian Ambassador to Vietnam; on the Vietnamese side were the Vietnamese Ambassador to Saudi Arabia and the staff of the Embassy and Vietnamese expatriates in Saudi Arabia.

During his working program in Saudi Arabia, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh is expected to attend and speak at the ASEAN-GCC Summit and have bilateral meetings with heads of delegations from countries attending the conference.

Along with that, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh will meet with the Prime Minister and Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia; receive government officials, royal family, economic groups, and large investment funds of Saudi Arabia; attend and speak at the Vietnam-Saudi Arabia Business Forum, meet with officials of the Vietnamese Embassy and representatives of the Vietnamese community in Saudi Arabia.

The Governor of Riyadh invited the Prime Minister to enjoy Arabic coffee in a traditional welcoming ceremony.

Attending the ASEAN-GCC Summit, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and the Vietnamese delegation will contribute to strengthening the cooperative relationship between ASEAN and the GCC, especially in areas of cooperation with great potential, such as economy, trade, culture and people-to-people exchange...

The working trip contributes to strengthening political trust and improving the effectiveness of cooperation in the fields of politics, diplomacy, trade, investment, ODA, labor, etc. between Vietnam and GCC countries, especially between Vietnam and Saudi Arabia, towards the 25th anniversary of the establishment of Vietnam-Saudi Arabia diplomatic relations in 2024.

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh's working trip continues to actively implement the foreign policy of the 13th National Party Congress and Directive 25 of the Secretariat on promoting and elevating multilateral diplomacy to 2030; sending a message of strong commitment and responsible contribution of a friendly, sincere, trustworthy Vietnam, ready to strengthen friendly relations, dialogue and mutually beneficial cooperation, building a peaceful and stable regional and international environment with other countries.
