Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh visits the Hongyan Revolution Memorial Hall in Chongqing (China)

NDO - During his program to attend the 8th Greater Mekong Subregion Summit and work in China, on the afternoon of November 8, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh visited the Hongyan Historical Site in Chongqing City, China.


Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and the delegation were introduced by tour guides to Thach Ban Street, Dai Huu Farm, grass house, and the old relic site of Nhieu Quoc Mo Revolutionary House - names associated with the activities of revolutionary predecessors such as Chairman Mao Zedong, Prime Minister Zhou Enlai, and President Ho Chi Minh .

In particular, the Prime Minister visited the relics of the office of the Central Southern Bureau of the Communist Party of China and the Eighth Route Army in Chongqing; visited the Hongyan Revolutionary Memorial Hall - a place displaying and storing many artifacts about the previous revolutionary activities of Communist leaders such as Mao Zedong, Zhou Enlai of China and especially President Ho Chi Minh of Vietnam.

On the second floor of the Hongyan Revolutionary Memorial Hall, away from the former living and working rooms of Chairman Mao Zedong and Prime Minister Zhou Enlai, is the room where President Ho Chi Minh, with the alias Ho Quang, lived and worked as a revolutionary during the period of 1939-1940.

The room holds many simple items such as a single bed, a desk and chair, a bookshelf and a few other objects. Outside the room hangs a picture frame with a picture of Uncle Ho and a typewriter that he used to use regularly.

Every object in this historic room recalls the difficult working period of President Ho Chi Minh and the history of the Vietnamese revolution, recalling the simple lifestyle reflecting the simple style of the great President Ho Chi Minh.

Signing the golden book of memories at the relic site, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh emphasized that the Vietnamese Government sincerely thanks the Party Committee, Government and People of Chongqing for preserving and conserving the President Ho Chi Minh Memorial Room at the Hong Nam Revolutionary Memorial House.

The Prime Minister said that this precious historical relic is a vivid testament to the close friendship, "both comrades and brothers" between the two Parties and the two countries of Vietnam and China during the years of fighting for national independence of each country; he believes that the relic site will continue to contribute to educating revolutionary traditions, consolidating a solid social foundation for the comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership, and the Vietnam-China Community of Shared Future, which has strategic significance.

The Hong Nham relic site, which includes the room where President Ho Chi Minh lived and worked, is preserved, restored and conserved by China and Vietnam as a valuable asset of both nations. Every year, the relic site welcomes about 1 million visitors to visit, study and research.
