On July 16, in Hanoi, the Literature and Arts Times, the Institute ofEducational Sciences and Environment in collaboration with the Vietnam Culture and Reading Floor, and the Digital Knowledge Media Corporation - TTS launched the contest "Coming to the Future Road".

Speaking at the launching ceremony, writer and journalist Hoang Du, Editor-in-Chief of the Literature and Arts Times and co-head of the organizing committee, emphasized that the contest aims to spread the value of the book “The Road to the Future” by writer and researcher Nguyen Xuan Tuan, and at the same time widely gather comments and critical assessments of the book’s successes; continue to mobilize the intelligence and enthusiasm of researchers, scientists, artists, journalists and people from all walks of life, especially the young generation, to participate in proposing opinions on important issues in various fields in the country’s development in the era of national development.

Dr. Nguyen Van Khuong, Director of the Institute of Education and Environmental Sciences, co-head of the contest's organizing committee and member of the book project's editorial board, said that at the end of April 2025, volume 1 of the book "The Road to the Future" by writer and researcher Nguyen Xuan Tuan, nearly 1,000 pages thick, was released. After less than 2 months, 3,000 books were delivered to readers, causing great surprise and special attention from researchers and readers for this book project.
The core spirit of “The Road to the Future” Volume 1 is the effort to build a national development ideology in the spirit of Openness - Humanity - Sustainability. The book has proposed thinking frameworks and development strategies to help Vietnam adapt to the context of globalization, technological fluctuations and global ecological crisis. The key ideas include affirming the central role of people, culture and knowledge in the process of sustainable development. At the same time, the book emphasizes placing Vietnam in the global flow with an open vision of the future, but with its own identity.

At the launching ceremony, writer Nguyen Xuan Tuan said that the project Coming to “The Road to the Future” does not stop at introducing a book, but initiates a long-term, open, inter-class journey, in which “The Road to the Future” volume 1 is the starting point for an open, humane and sustainable ideological process.
The contest Coming to “The Road to the Future” will turn books into actions, ideas into practice, encouraging participants to not only read and debate, but also apply the spirit of books to real life, work and policies; spread the idea of sustainable development to all social classes, starting from the young generation through school education activities; inspire predictive thinking, debate and social creativity.
The contest “Coming to the Future Road” is expected to create a space for connecting authors - works - readers - writers, arousing the spirit of creativity, criticism and companionship of the public, especially the youth, in the journey of contributing ideas for the development of the country.
Participants can write a rebuttal, comment or propose ideas on the core issues in the book, or choose a current topic related to the national development strategy to enter the contest. The best entries will be selected to be included in the content of volume 2 of the book, expected to be released in the near future.
The contest "Coming to the Future Road" accepts entries from August 1, 2025 to the end of January 2026, at the address of Literature and Arts Times (32 Hao Nam, O Cho Dua Ward, Hanoi ) or via email [email protected].
Participants are all Vietnamese citizens at home and abroad, as well as foreigners living in Vietnam, aged 18 and over.
Prizes include: 1 First prize worth 30 million VND; 2 Second prizes worth 20 million VND/prize; 3 Third prizes worth 10 million VND/prize; 10 Consolation prizes worth 3 million VND/prize.
