Nearly half a century of formation and development, THDT has had a strong transformation in the journey to build a television brand with a "strong Western character". To gain a large audience in the group of essential local television channels leading the Mekong Delta region, it is impossible not to mention the silent efforts of generations of reporters, technicians, and announcers who are skilled and not afraid of difficulties, often going early and coming home late, wading through fields, going to the market, sticking to the base, even in storms, floods or unusually dangerous epidemics.
With 3 News Programs every day, 70 radio and television topics and columns every week, to ensure the broadcast program, the entire production team must make every effort to produce on time while maintaining the quality of content, in the context of no increase in staff and increasing demands from the audience. That is why improving production capacity is always a top priority. We always keep in mind "We cannot do it quickly, but must do it well, do it correctly, to touch the emotions of the viewers". The core value of THDT is not in the number of programs but in its unique mark. Although we do not have modern cameras or studios, we do Television with all our hearts, with a spirit of service, with kindness in every word, every frame and above all with love for the Land of Pink Lotus where we live and contribute.
That is what has helped THĐT gain its own strengths, be loved by the Western audience and be the priority choice to follow. We are proud that the Political News Program maintains a high viewership at 6:30 p.m. every day. To gain this trust is not easy but is the result of the persistent work of the team of reporters, editors, technicians... who are always dedicated to bringing fast, accurate information and honestly reflecting people's lives. We not only convey information but also try to clarify what people are thinking, needing, and expecting from the government.
As an agricultural province, we clearly identify: Television must accompany farmers. Agricultural topics are not just monotonous news but have become a bridge of knowledge - a place to share new production models, modern technology, ecological and sustainable farming. When a farmer told me that, thanks to watching the program, he boldly changed his way of doing things, saving seeds and using organic fertilizers to get better rice yields - I knew that my colleagues and I were on the right track.

Television is not only about information and knowledge. Television is also a place to preserve the cultural soul. After 5 seasons of broadcasting, the Game Show “Tai Tu Mien Vuon” has proven the strong vitality of the art of Don Ca Tai Tu thanks to its close, rustic but creative way of doing things. Young people find the melody of their homeland, the elderly find nostalgia. Nguyen Thi Thanh Truc - a student at Dong Thap University shared: Watching “Tai Tu Mien Vuon”, I see that Don Ca Tai Tu is not old-fashioned, it touches emotions, through a close, attractive approach”. We are touched by that.
Although there are still many difficulties, since 2010, THĐT has started to have a policy of "fishing far from shore", we do not hesitate to expand the space for expression. From the borderlands, to the journey of experience in Laos, Japan, Korea... giving the audience a broad view but still "very Western" through the perspective of THĐT reporters. An audience member living in France sent an email to the station expressing his love: "I live far from home, but thanks to THĐT's reports, I feel like I have returned to my childhood, reliving the memories of the pure West".
Sports programs are also THDT’s strength. Not simply updating match results, we tell sports stories – about people, memories, aspirations that have created and are creating the sports spirit of the Land of Pink Lotus. When a 10th grader said that he learned about the Dong Thap Football Team in 1989 through the program “Vang bong mot thoi” – I understood that what I do is not only information but also connecting memories and inspiring.
We always keep in mind: To build a brand, first of all, we must do our job properly. Investing in content, investing in people, investing in depth and identity is the path that THĐT persistently pursues. Each broadcast program is not simply a media product, but a slice of life, a part of the journey accompanying the people of Dong Thap.
In the current context, the merger of Bao Dai and Dong Thap with Tien Giang is a challenging move but at the same time opens up new development space when the units look in the same direction: optimizing resources, enhancing content linkage, sharing technical systems, and especially expanding audience coverage.
To maintain our brand, we continue to invest in improving our production capacity, focusing on new and creative topics and expressions. At the same time, we also promote exploitation on digital platforms such as YouTube, Facebook, TikTok... Not only to increase reach but also to create more sustainable revenue.
The 100th anniversary of Vietnam Revolutionary Press Day is an opportunity for every professional to look back and ask themselves: What have I done, am doing and will do to be worthy of the audience's trust? For me, the answer is still: We must continue to do television with all our heart - not only to bring the image of Dong Thap closer to the public, but also so that the audience can feel the sincerity and responsibility in each broadcast program. And we believe that, with love for the profession, creativity and spirit of service, the THDT brand will spread more and more strongly in the hearts of the public.
