Young man swings knife wildly in the middle of the street, injures police major

On January 2, Chau Doc City Police ( An Giang ) arrested Duong Van Hau - the subject who disturbed public order and injured a police major.

Previously, on the evening of January 1, Hau used a homemade knife to slash randomly in the middle of Phan Dinh Phung Street, Chau Phu B Ward.

Seeing the incident was dangerous for passersby, Major Thai Van Tam (officer of the General Team, Chau Doc City Police) came to advise.

Not stopping his dangerous behavior, Hau became more aggressive. To prevent the subject from harming people, Major Tam used a long stick to suppress him, with the aim of disarming and controlling the subject.

During the scuffle, Hau slashed the police officer's hand. The police arrived promptly, restrained Hau and took Mr. Tam to the emergency room.

Hau is not yet conscious enough to assist with the investigation. Major Tam's health has stabilized.

On January 2, Colonel Le Phu Thanh, Deputy Director of An Giang Provincial Police, and representatives of several units visited the hospital to visit, commend, encourage, and present 5 million VND in support to Major Thai Van Tam.
