Cleanse dirty food

In recent times, authorities in many localities have discovered a large quantity of frozen food of unknown origin that has been or is about to be released to the market. Most recently, Nam Dinh Provincial Police discovered 20 tons of food (including animal organs, meat, bones, cow and chicken feet, etc.) without certificates or quarantine papers on the way to the southern provinces for consumption. Many of the organs, meat and bones were smelly and moldy.

In Dong Nai province, authorities destroyed more than 30 tons of dirty food without documents when 1/3 of these goods were contaminated with Salmonella (a type of bacteria that can cause poisoning and death). These goods were collected from Facebook groups and then stored in warehouses in Long Khanh City (Dong Nai) and Thu Duc City (HCMC). In Binh Duong province, authorities also discovered irregularities behind the words "Cold storage for liquidated waste products used for animal husbandry" stuck on the container.

About 11 tons of frozen food from floating sources were sealed, of which more than 6 tons (chicken, pork, sausages, etc.) were expired. The owner of the goods admitted that he knew the food was expired but still sold it to food processing and trading establishments in Binh Duong and Ho Chi Minh City to make a profit.

Never before have people waited so long for news about the crackdown on fake and dirty food as they do now. During the peak of the nationwide crackdown on fake and poor quality goods, consumers realized that dirty food can infiltrate every street stall to food and beverage establishment, from sidewalk coffee shops to famous brands, from spontaneous markets to online markets.

It seems that wherever the inspection agency goes, the dark side is exposed! Reality shows that it is difficult to awaken the conscience of those who are willing to disregard the health and lives of consumers for profit.

In the current context, people expect the authorities to thoroughly investigate and eliminate the widespread trade of counterfeit goods, especially in the food sector, as well as decisions to handle violations that are sufficiently deterrent.

At the same time, effective solutions are required from management agencies to prevent dirty food from entering every family's meals, gradually protecting public health.
