Thanh Hoa: Ready for the 2025 Rural and Agricultural Census

(Baothanhhoa.vn) - On July 1, the 2025 Rural and Agricultural Census will take place nationwide. This is one of three important national statistical censuses, not only helping the Government formulate policies for the development of "three rural areas" but also providing an opportunity to review the picture of Vietnam's rural and agricultural areas in a complete, accurate and comprehensive manner. Clearly identifying that importance, Thanh Hoa province has been focusing on preparing for the census to ensure progress, quality, safety and efficiency.

According to Decision No. 484/QD-TTg dated June 7, 2024 of the Prime Minister , the 2025 Agricultural and Rural Development Census will collect information within 30 days, from July 1 to July 30, 2025. Preliminary results will be announced in December 2025. Official results will be announced in March 2026. Thematic analysis reports will be published in July 2026.

Mr. Thai Ba Minh, Head of the Thanh Hoa Provincial Statistics Office, said: The 2025 Rural Population and Housing Census is the 6th Census nationwide with many new features. The results of the Census will serve the compilation of relevant statistical indicators in the national statistical indicator system; compile socio -economic indicators to serve the assessment of the current situation, analyze change trends, develop plans and strategies for rural development, agriculture, forestry and fishery (AFF) and improve the living standards of rural residents nationwide as well as in each locality.

To serve research and assessment of the scale and structure of rural labor and NLTS labor; changes in rural infrastructure; the implementation of some contents of national programs and targets in the rural and NLTS sector; to serve international comparisons of rural and NLTS sector indicators. At the same time, through the Census, a database on rural and NLTS will be built to serve in-depth research; to serve as a sampling frame for some annual periodic surveys on the NLTS sector and to meet other statistical requirements.

In the 2025 NTNN Census, Thanh Hoa province was chosen as the venue for the national launching ceremony, so the preparation work was prepared urgently and seriously by the units. To collect complete statistical data, Thanh Hoa province will conduct surveys on 4,663 localities and nearly 700 thousand households across the province. In the context of localities having just merged administrative units, the large amount of work requires thorough and systematic preparation in terms of human resources, facilities, technology, and communications.

With a high sense of responsibility, up to now, Thanh Hoa has fully prepared the conditions, ready to join the whole country from July 1, simultaneously deploying the Census, ensuring the right progress, contributing to the overall success of the Census nationwide.

The 2025 Agricultural Census will collect three groups of information: the current status of agricultural, forestry and fishery production; the current status of rural areas; and information on rural residents.

* The subjects of the investigation include: workers participating in NLTS activities; households participating in NLTS activities; farms, enterprises, cooperatives participating in NLTS activities; Commune People's Committees.

* The 2025 Agricultural Census will simultaneously implement two information collection methods: direct interviews (using electronic survey forms - CAPI and paper survey forms) and indirect information collection (using electronic survey forms - Webform) from survey units.
