The flow of history, blending cultural identity

Tay Ninh province is a land formed on two twin rivers, Vam Co Dong and Vam Co Tay. With an area of over 8,500 km², bordering Ho Chi Minh City and Dong Nai to the east, Dong Thap to the west, Cambodia to the north and south and partly belonging to the Mekong Delta, Tay Ninh is not only a strategic transit point but also a place where the historical and cultural quintessence of the entire Southern region is deposited.

Tay Ninh is the common home of 21 ethnic groups. Although the ethnic minority population is not large, their cultural colors are deeply imprinted in the spiritual life of this land. Throughout history, from the 19th century anti-French uprising movement, to the resistance war against the US and the construction of the homeland in the renovation period, Tay Ninh people have always been present with the qualities of "loyalty and resilience". This place used to be the base of the Southern Regional Party Committee and the Central Office for the South. That is the solid foundation for this land to move forward in the new era.

Tourism breakthrough in the new era

Entering a new development phase after the merger of Long An and the old Tay Ninh provinces in June 2025, Tay Ninh will become a locality with a strategic "bridge" position between Ho Chi Minh City, the Mekong Delta and the Kingdom of Cambodia. This geographical convergence opens up a favorable regional connectivity space, creating a strong lever for Tay Ninh tourism to take off.

Tay Ninh currently has all the conditions to develop various types of tourism: spiritual, ecological, cultural - historical, resort, high-tech agriculture. Ba Den Mountain, with its modern cable car system, continues to be the top tourist destination. Since the beginning of 2025, there have been more than 7 million visitors to Tay Ninh, affirming its position as the leading cultural - spiritual tourism destination in the South.

In addition, Lo Go - Xa Mat National Park, Lang Sen Wetland Reserve, Dau Tieng Lake... are precious "green gems" for sustainable ecotourism development. Unique religious structures such as the Cao Dai Holy See, Ong Ca Dang Van Truoc Temple, revolutionary relics... have been attracting the attention of domestic and foreign tourists.

Mr. Tran Anh Minh, Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Tay Ninh province, affirmed: "We identify tourism development as one of the key economic sectors, associated with preserving and promoting cultural and historical values, while maximizing the natural ecological potential. The merger of the province creates more room, space and resources for Tay Ninh to make breakthroughs in infrastructure, products and tourism brands."

In fact, Tay Ninh tourism infrastructure is being invested synchronously. The system of highways, beltways, ports, logistics, and inter-regional connections is being promoted. Eco-tourism and resort projects such as Eco Retreat, Dau Tieng Lakeside Urban Area, and waterway tourism cluster along the Vam Co River... are in the process of implementation, promising to reshape the southern tourism map.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Thu Huyen, a tourist from Hanoi, shared: "I was very surprised when I first came to Tay Ninh. Not only is Ba Den Mountain beautiful and sacred, but ecological sites such as Lo Go - Xa Mat, or Cao Dai culture are also very unique. I think this is a place worth coming back to many times."

Converging the past, creating the future

Tay Ninh is also exploiting the strength of heritage tourism associated with the community. Hundreds of folk festivals and traditional cultures of ethnic groups are restored and organized every year. OCOP products and local cuisine such as shrimp salt, sun-dried rice paper, Ben Luc pineapple, Tan Chau sugarcane... are not only goods but also "cultural ambassadors" of the land.

In particular, Tay Ninh's tourism development strategy for the period 2025 - 2030 identifies 3 breakthroughs: Developing infrastructure and regional transport links to serve tourism; Improving the quality of human resources in the tourism industry; Diversifying products, linking tourism with cultural preservation and developing high-tech agriculture.
