Create fake district leader accounts to scam

(Dan Tri) - Authorities determined that bad guys used images and personal information of leaders of Duc Trong district ( Lam Dong ) to create fake accounts on social networks to commit fraud.

On October 26, the People's Committee of Duc Trong District, Lam Dong Province, announced that it had recently discovered individuals using personal information and images of leaders of the Duc Trong District People's Committee to create Zalo accounts impersonating district leaders and then making friends and texting with others for personal gain.

To prevent acts of impersonating leaders and fraud, the People's Committee of Duc Trong district has requested departments, People's Committees of communes and towns of Lien Nghia, organizations and individuals to raise their vigilance; do not agree to make friends, exchange, or make requests to borrow money or transfer money with unusual social network accounts.

Recently, Lam Dong province authorities have recorded a number of cases of forging documents of state agencies and creating fake social network accounts of units and organizations to commit fraud.

At the end of September, a group of people forged a decision by the Lam Dong Department of Health to establish an inspection team to monitor food production and trading establishments to request restaurant owners to provide records and information.

In early October, a fake Facebook account impersonated the Da Lat Music Night Run 2024 in Da Lat city, Lam Dong, calling on athletes to register for a ticket price of VND269,000.
