Strengthening coordination in responding to climate change and protecting the environment

On the morning of August 25, 20258, the Central Working Group led by Member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Head of the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Commission Huynh Thanh Dat had a working session with the Standing Committee of the Tay Ninh Provincial Party Committee on the implementation of the Party's policies and guidelines on proactively responding to climate change, strengthening resource management and environmental protection.

Overview of the working session

Receiving and working with the delegation were Provincial Party Secretary Nguyen Van Quyet and comrades in the Provincial Party Standing Committee; leaders of departments, branches and sectors of the province.

  At the working session, the Standing Committee of Tay Ninh Provincial Party Committee briefly reported on the results of implementing the Party's policies and guidelines on proactively responding to climate change, strengthening resource management and environmental protection in the area. The report stated that the province has many advantages in socio -economic development, but is being strongly affected by climate change, saltwater intrusion, drought and extreme natural disasters. In recent times, the province has synchronously deployed propaganda work, thoroughly grasped the resolutions and conclusions of the Central Committee; integrated the content of responding to climate change, resource management and environmental protection into the socio-economic development program. Notably, the enhancement of information and communication on natural disaster prevention and control, forest protection; building high-tech agricultural models to adapt to climate change; promoting digital transformation in resource and environmental management; operating automatic monitoring systems for air, wastewater and emissions to closely monitor production activities.

Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Minh Lam said that currently 100% of industrial parks in the province have been   build a centralized wastewater collection and treatment system; treated wastewater meets standards before being discharged into the environment. The province also seriously implements digital transformation in natural resource and environmental management. Up to now,   100% administrative procedures   in this area has been provided in the form of online public services.

Comrade Nguyen Thi Xuan Huong - Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Head of the Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Committee of Tay Ninh Provincial Party Committee affirmed that the work of propagating and implementing the Party's policies is the "key link" to put the guidelines into practice; from 2023 to present, Tay Ninh has organized over 350 conferences with nearly 6,000 participants. The implementation of Conclusion No. 81-KL/TW of the Politburo on climate change response, resource management and environmental protection has contributed to raising awareness, creating a clear change in the thinking and actions of the entire political system and society.

Speaking at the meeting, Deputy Head of the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Commission Huynh Thanh Dat suggested that Tay Ninh continue to promote and innovate propaganda work on climate change response, promote the role of community digital technology teams to convey information quickly and effectively. In addition, the leader of the working delegation also requested the province to soon complete the team of specialized officials on natural resources and environment in accordance with the 2-level local government model. At the same time, improve the capacity to forecast, monitor and handle, overcome the consequences of natural disasters, and minimize environmental pollution. On the basis of this meeting, the Central Working Group will absorb local opinions and recommendations to advise the Central Government to soon issue appropriate policies in the new situation./.
