Strengthening control and handling of violations in the use of wireless microphones

According to the Radio Frequency Department, wireless microphones are devices that record and transmit signals using radio waves, so they pose a potential risk of causing interference to legally operating radio communication systems. To ensure safety, wireless microphones are only allowed to operate within the frequency bands specified in Circular 08/2021/TT-BTTTT, specifically: 40.66 - 40.70 MHz; 87 - 108 MHz; 182.025 - 182.975 MHz; 217.025 - 217.975 MHz; 218.025 - 218.475 MHz; 470 - 694 MHz and 1795 - 1800 MHz.

In addition, wireless microphones are on the list of products and goods that can cause unsafety according to Circular 02/2024/TT-BTTTT. Before being circulated on the market, the equipment must be certified, declared to be in conformity and affixed with a conformity mark according to the provisions of Circular 30/2011/TT-BTTTT.

Since 2020, the Radio Frequency Department has coordinated with the Market Management Department to inspect and seize many shipments of violating wireless microphones, while strengthening propaganda through the Department of Information and Communications (now the Department of Science and Technology) and the network of community digital technology groups, villages, and residential groups. People are advised to only buy wireless microphones of clear origin, with conformity marks, to avoid counterfeit and poor quality goods.

However, the sale of non-compliant wireless microphones still appears on some e-commerce platforms and social networks. A number of uninformed consumers have purchased and used this type of device, and have been administratively fined and had their devices confiscated according to Decree 15/2020/ND-CP and Decree 14/2022/ND-CP. In fact, in the first 8 months of 2025, more than 70 organizations and individuals in many provinces and cities across the country, especially in large cities such as Hanoi , Ho Chi Minh City, Hai Phong, Da Nang, Can Tho... have been administratively fined for violating regulations.
