Fake HIUP milk: Original price less than 90,000 VND, sold for 546,000 VND/can

The fake HIUP 27 milk production line had a revenue of up to 6,700 billion VND. Notably, the factory price of each can of milk was 87,800 VND, but it was sold for nearly 7 times the original price.

The Investigation Police Agency of the Ministry of Public Security (C01) issued a decision to prosecute the case of Violating accounting regulations causing serious consequences and Producing and trading in counterfeit food products, as prescribed in Article 221 and Article 193 of the 2015 Penal Code, occurring at Z Holding Joint Stock Company (headquartered at 275 Nguyen Trai, Thanh Xuan Trung Ward, Thanh Xuan District, Hanoi).

According to authorities, to carry out the act of producing and trading counterfeit goods, the subjects established 20 companies, all of which were run by 3 leaders, including Z Holding Joint Stock Company, to manage the entire system of companies.

According to VTV, from 2023 to April 2025, Hoang Quang Thinh, General Director and Chairman of the Board of Directors of Z Holding, directed his subordinates to set up two accounting systems to conceal revenue and reduce tax obligations. The initial loss to the state budget was determined to be more than 410 billion VND.

In addition, Thinh also directed individuals Tran Xuan Chien (Director of Alma Vietnam Trading and Technology Company Limited), Le Van Duyen (founding shareholder), Nguyen Thi Thu Hien (Director) and Pham Duy Tan (former Director) of Nature Made Trading and Production Joint Stock Company to prepare a dossier to declare the nutritional product HIUP 27 with declared ingredients including 37 nutrients.

However, the police determined that this product only has 15-17 ingredients, many of which do not meet the 70% declared and are considered counterfeit.

The company that produced this product also used fake test certificates to provide to the authorities. When the authorities increased their inspection, the subjects destroyed and legalized documents related to the production of fake product batches.

Test results determined that HIUP nutritional products are counterfeit.

According to the report, the factory price of each can of milk is 87,800 VND, but it is sold on the market at an average price of more than 546,000 VND/can, nearly 7 times the original price.

The trading line of this item is exceptionally large in scale, with revenue of up to 6,700 billion VND.

Regarding the case, the Ministry of Public Security's Investigation Police Agency prosecuted 10 defendants for the crimes of Violating accounting regulations causing serious consequences and Producing and trading in counterfeit food products.
