What did the Vietnamese startup that successfully raised 10 million USD reveal at Conviction 2025?

On the morning of August 10, Ho Chi Minh City Technology Festival - Conviction 2025 continued to take place, organized by the Ho Chi Minh City Electronic Communications Association with the core being the Ho Chi Minh City Blockchain Association (HBA) and the Ninety Eight blockchain ecosystem.

What did AI Hay share at Conviction 2025?

At the event, Mr. Nguyen Hoang Hiep, Operations Director of AI Hay – a platform combining social networking and generative AI developed by Vietnamese engineers, shared about global AI trends and opportunities for Vietnam. AI Hay is a startup that has just completed a Series A funding round worth 10 million USD.

According to Mr. Hiep, the world is witnessing fierce competition between "giants" such as OpenAI, Google and Microsoft as they continuously launch increasingly intelligent artificial intelligence (AI) models.

If in the past, AI only stopped at the ability to perceive and generate, now it has entered the Agentic AI stage - the type of AI that can automatically process a series of tasks, go back to previous steps to complete the task and interact like a real human.

This is a distinct difference from traditional AI Chatbots, which only respond to each user command.

When asked whether Vietnamese technology companies will be overwhelmed by AI software from global corporations, Mr. Hiep said that there will be no strongest model for all users, because each AI has its own strengths.

OpenAI excels at text processing, complex programming, and automated reasoning, while Gemini excels at multimodal understanding and image processing. They only really work together, and OpenAI remains the backbone of many products today.

According to Mr. Hiep, if Vietnamese enterprises develop based on the GPT platform and continuously improve, each product launched will closely follow market demand and be competitive enough.

Mr. Hiep expects that in the remaining months of 2025, the Vietnamese market will welcome many new AI products and platforms that are increasingly advanced and flexible.

"Vietnam has an advantage in the AI race by learning from the failures of international markets, possessing an increasingly large number of AI programmers, and especially the market has not yet seen a technology "bubble".

Although coming later, Vietnam can completely take shortcuts, taking advantage of experience from the West and China to accelerate, thereby affirming its position on the global AI map," said Mr. Hiep.
