This is the goal of the project Component No. 2 "Enhancing children and communities' ability to adapt to climate change through afforestation in Ben En National Park" sponsored by Save the Children International (SCI) - Representative Office in Vietnam.
Thanh Hoa Provincial People's Committee has just issued Decision No. 553/QD-UBND dated February 25, 2025 approving the aid for implementing Project Component No. 02 "Enhancing the ability to adapt to climate change of children and communities through afforestation in Ben En National Park" sponsored by Save the Children International (SCI) - Representative Office in Vietnam.

The total non-refundable aid capital of Component No. 02 "Enhancing the capacity to adapt to climate change of children and communities through afforestation in Ben En National Park" is 208,602 USD, equivalent to nearly 5.1 billion VND. The project location is at Ben En National Park and the implementation period is until December 31, 2026.
It is known that the project “Enhancing the ability to adapt to climate change of children and communities through afforestation in Ben En National Park” consists of 2 components, Component 1 is to enhance the ability to adapt to climate change of children and communities through climate education at Hong Duc University and 10 high schools in the province. This component has a total aid capital of nearly 500,000 USD.
The implementation of this project will have more than 4,300 students participating in activities at the Climate Change Education Center at Hong Duc University and more than 5,000 students participating in communication campaigns to raise public awareness about climate change adaptation at 11 high schools in Thanh Hoa province.
In addition, at least 10 hectares of experimental Melaleuca forests in the Song Muc reservoir were newly planted and well cared for, contributing to limiting the encroachment of the Mimosa tree species, protecting the landscape, promoting the development of ecotourism , managing sustainable land and water resources and improving the efficiency of biodiversity conservation.
This project also aims to raise awareness of students, students, and people in the community about climate change, promote practical actions to adapt to climate change by children and the community with the participation of stakeholders...
