Sanofi raises 'Flag to fight meningitis'

VTC NewsVTC News05/10/2023

On the occasion of World Meningitis Day (October 5, 2023), Sanofi continues to accompany the vision and great efforts to push back meningitis, through the project "Flag to Push Back Meningitis".

This is a global initiative carried out in partnership between the Meningitis Research Foundation (MRF), the Confederation of Meningitis Prevention Organisations (CoMO) and Para-athletes Ellie Challis (UK), Théo Curin (France) and Davide Morana (Italy).

This unique initiative aims to promote global solidarity in the fight against what is considered one of the world's most dangerous infectious diseases.

With three colors: yellow, purple and blue, the Meningitis Awareness Flag serves as a recognizable symbol to raise awareness and understanding of the disease and gives the community a common voice in the same way that the pink ribbon created awareness for breast cancer.

Let's wave the flag to fight meningitis.

Let's wave the flag to fight meningitis.

The flag was inspired and launched with the support of Paralympians Ellie Challis (UK), Théo Curin (France) and Davide Morana (Italy), who suffered from meningitis at the ages of 16 months, 6 years and 24 years. They will fly the flag at upcoming international competitions to raise awareness of meningitis.
