Launched in March 2025, the "Rural Youth Startup Project" contest continues to affirm itself as a prestigious and practical playground to promote and encourage the spirit of entrepreneurship and career establishment among young people, especially in rural areas. This is one of the key activities to realize the goal of developing a modern, green and sustainable agricultural economy in line with the orientation of the Party and Government.
According to the Organizing Committee, 228 projects from 45 provinces and cities submitted applications to the competition. Of these, 33 projects were from young people from ethnic minorities such as H'Mong, Tay, Dao, Muong, Nung, Thai, Ha Nhi, Khmer, San Diu... This shows the strong influence and entrepreneurial spirit that is permeating every village and remote area.
Participating projects focus on the fields of agricultural development applying science and technology, promoting indigenous resources, environmental protection and preserving ethnic culture. There are 156 projects on agricultural development applying science and technology, promoting indigenous resources; 39 projects on environmental protection; and 33 projects on preserving ethnic culture.
After the preliminary round, the Organizing Committee selected 120 projects for the Semi-finals. From here, the 30 best projects will continue to compete in the National Finals scheduled to be held in October 2025.
Participating in the final round, the projects were divided into 3 project groups according to the project fields. The contestants not only demonstrated their talents through presentations introducing the project, promoting the product visually and giving feedback to the jury, but also opened up many opportunities for cooperation and practical development.
The Organizing Committee will accompany and connect projects with many activities such as: organizing trading floors, calling for investment capital, organizing conferences to discuss support policies in agricultural production with the participation of leaders of ministries, branches, central agencies, representatives of investment funds, commercial banks and economic groups in related fields, organizing fairs to promote products of contestants.
In 2025, the competition's award structure will be designed to be practical and highly supportive for young people to realize their startup dreams, including:
+ 01 First Prize: 50 million VND + Opportunity to borrow capital from the National Employment Fund to implement a project of up to 1 billion VND (the project must meet the prescribed conditions to borrow capital).
+ 02 Second Prizes: Each prize is 30 million VND + Maximum loan support of 500 million VND
+ 03 Third Prizes: Each prize is 15 million VND + Maximum loan support of 300 million VND
+ 03 Consolation Prizes: Each prize is 10 million VND + Maximum loan support of 200 million VND
The subsidiary awards include: Outstanding investment projects, projects with social significance and good development potential, and projects meeting integration standards.
Projects participating in the National Final Round will receive a Certificate of Merit from the Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union and the Organizing Committee will introduce them to investment enterprises, support and provide practical implementation advice for projects that suit the needs of enterprises.
The competition is not only a place to nurture startup ideas for rural youth, but also contributes to shifting production thinking towards smart agricultural economy, combining science and technology, environmental protection and cultural preservation.
Through the competition, rural youth have more opportunities to access capital, improve their entrepreneurial skills and contribute to developing the rural economy in a modern, green and sustainable direction.
