Review Madame de Dalat - Lost in an ancient villa in the heart of Dalat like in a movie

If you are familiar with the “national” places in Da Lat such as Con Ga Church, Da Lat Railway Station or Xuan Huong Lake, then this time I would like to invite you to try a new destination – Madame de Dalat. This is the place I just visited on my most recent trip and I really had to exclaim: “Why did I just know about this place now?!”

Madame de Dalat – Ancient villa in the heart of the city

Madame de Dalat was restored from the Tran Le Xuan Palace - one of the most famous and storied ancient villas in Dalat. In the past, this was the resort of Mrs. Tran Le Xuan (wife of Mr. Ngo Dinh Nhu), and now it has been "made over" super beautiful, with a strong European and Asian style.

The complex includes many subdivisions such as Lam Ngoc and Hong Ngoc villas, Japanese garden, Ao Dai street, Nguyen Dynasty Woodblock Museum, and especially Madame Show - a cultural highlight that makes you curious just hearing about it!

From the moment I stepped through the gate, I felt like I was lost in a classic film set. The blue-tiled buildings, stone-paved roads, clear glass windows welcoming the sunlight, rows of lush green trees... all combined to create a space that is both ancient and "stylish".

I especially love the Memory Garden with its lake, stone-paved path, gentle Japanese garden corner, and the Ao Dai Street – where dozens of beautiful vintage Ao Dai are displayed. Anyone who is passionate about retro photography, or wants to have a classic tone couple/travel photo album – just come here and you will have enough material for virtual life!

Madame Show – See it once and remember it forever

That night, I stayed to watch Madame Show – a live performance combining music , dance and light, recounting the 130-year history of Lam Vien plateau. Honestly, I didn’t think there would be such an emotional and invested show in Da Lat!

Actors transformed into historical figures, nostalgic background music, elaborate set design... I got goosebumps watching it because everything was so meticulous and full of emotion. You don't need to be a "history buff" to find it interesting.
