Quang Nam: Strengthening protection and promoting the value of national treasures

The Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Quang Nam province has sent a report to the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism on the work of protecting, preserving and promoting the value of national treasures.

According to the report, Quang Nam province currently has 7 recognized national treasures including: Shiva statue head, dated from the 10th century, belonging to the Champa culture; Ekamukhalinga artifact, dated from the early 8th century, belonging to the Champa culture; My Son A10 altar located in tower A10 belonging to group A, My Son temple complex; Lai Nghi gold jewelry collection (belonging to the Sa Huynh culture, 3rd century BC to mid-1st century); Lai Nghi animal-shaped agate beads (belonging to the Sa Huynh culture, 3rd century BC to mid-1st century); Dong Son bronze drum; Dong Son bronze jar.

Ekamukhalinga artifact, early 8th century, Champa culture

After the artifacts were recognized as national treasures by the Prime Minister , the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism directed and coordinated with relevant agencies and units to develop and deploy plans and carry out the work of protecting and promoting their values. To strengthen fire and explosion prevention and control, all units have been fully equipped with fire extinguishers and automatic fire alarm systems. Every year, officials are sent to attend fire prevention and control classes and practice drills at agencies and units. Electrical systems are installed according to technical standards and automatically cut off power in case of an incident.

Regularly inspect fire prevention and fighting equipment and means; regularly pay attention to security and order and other risks of harm to artifacts. Install surveillance cameras, strictly follow warehouse regulations, increase on-duty forces on holidays and Tet. At the same time, coordinate with local authorities and police forces in coordinating security protection at agencies and units.

The report also recommends that all levels pay attention to building new or upgrading warehouse infrastructure, investing in modern equipment that meets standards; continue to provide guidance and professional work to effectively implement plans to protect, preserve and promote the value of national treasures at the Museum.

At the same time, continue to promote cooperation in displaying treasures between museums from central to local levels and implement when there is an opportunity; introduce treasures to the public through visual images and vivid videos .

In addition, regular training in professional expertise continues to be focused on, ensuring that the team has both high professional expertise, soft skills and creativity to contribute to the success of the work of preserving and promoting the value of national treasures as well as cultural heritage in general./.
