As reported by the Government E-newspaper, due to the impact of storm No. 3, many important traffic routes in the area were cut off. In particular, National Highway 7A - the main artery connecting the western communes of Nghe An province - was severely eroded, many sections were deeply submerged in water, causing traffic to be completely paralyzed, and rescue forces could not access by road.

On the morning of July 24, under the direction of the Ministry of National Defense , the Air Defense - Air Force mobilized two helicopters from the Northern Helicopter Company and Regiment 916 to carry out an emergency rescue mission, taking off from Hoa Lac Airport (Hanoi) to Vinh Airport (Nghe An).

Helicopters took off from Vinh airport, carrying dozens of tons of essential goods such as food, clean water, medicine, life jackets, etc. to isolated areas to provide supplies to people. The helicopters will drop the goods at 5 locations in the communes of Muong Xen, Muong Tip, Nhon Mai, My Ly, and Bac Ly.

The flight carried food including instant noodles and bottled water in large quantities.

After landing at Vinh airport (Nghe An), the pilots and crew will continue to receive a large amount of food supplies prepared by Military Region 4. Then the plane will take off to Tuong Duong, Nghe An, which is completely isolated due to heavy flood waters.

In Nghe An, Military Region 4 also requested logistics and medical units to prepare emergency relief packages, medicine, dry food, and drinking water to reinforce the following flights, ensuring uninterrupted supply.

Relief flights will continue to be maintained depending on the flood situation, to ensure that people in flooded areas do not lack food, clean water and medicine.
