Besides, the education sector also effectively implements coordination between family, school and community in child care and education .

Smart school in the mountains

Nghia Long Kindergarten (Nghia Loc, Nghe An) has designed and built a special bulletin board. On it, besides the rules, there is also a smart school criteria board and an electronic library including QR codes for all school activities. Parents and residents can quickly and fully update information on the school year plan, directives from the locality and the education sector, public revenue and expenditure, medical records, boarding records of children, etc.

This bulletin board is an impressive point for a school located in a mountainous and difficult area with 66% of the children being ethnic minorities. However, determining that applying information technology to teaching is a trend and an inevitable requirement to improve the quality of education, in the 2024-2025 school year, Nghia Long Kindergarten decided to build and deploy a smart school model.

Ms. Ho Thi Thuy Lien - Principal of the school shared that when implementing, the school faced many difficulties such as old and degraded classrooms, no smart classrooms. Toys and teaching aids mainly met basic needs, while the school budget was limited. Parents had difficulty accessing technology, supporting their children's learning...

However, based on the industry's guidance documents, participating in seminars, and receiving opinions from preschool professionals, Nghia Long Kindergarten has developed a set of smart school criteria that are suitable for practice.

At the same time, actively advise local authorities to invest in counterpart budget and mobilize educational funding resources to renovate 3 classrooms, 5 functional rooms, sanitary facilities and build smart classrooms worth 2.6 billion VND; purchase equipment, tables, smart teaching software from the school budget and socialized resources... worth 160 million VND.

The school also trains digital capacity for staff and teachers in QR code creation skills, using teaching support software, virtual assistant tools, and new applications that teachers find effective. Thanks to that, teachers build smart lessons, design lectures, and lively learning activities suitable for children's ages.

After the 2024-2025 school year, 100% of smart lessons will be implemented in 4-5 year old kindergarten classes. The school also encourages parents to purchase smart devices and organizes seminars to share with parents about child education and care.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Yen - parent of Nghia Long Kindergarten, shared: “The experiential programs and seminars that the school organizes for children and parents to participate in are effective and meaningful. Children are cared for and educated in all aspects, and parents also support and accompany the school to carry out many other meaningful activities for their children.”

At the end of the 2024-2025 school year, Na Ngoi Border Guard Station coordinated with Na Ngoi 1 Kindergarten (Na Ngoi, Nghe An) to organize multicultural music activities for children. This is not the first time the Border Guard Station has participated with the school in educational activities. This coordination is part of the plan to implement the topic of child care and education between family, school and community.

Similarly, before the summer break, Tam Hop Kindergarten (Tam Hop, Nghe An) coordinated with the Border Guard Station, Commune Police, Medical Station and local people to organize a program to prevent drowning and injuries for children.

Ms. Vo Thi Tuyet Chinh - Vice Chairman of Tam Quang Commune shared that for communes in mountainous and border areas, mobilizing educational funding is difficult because people's lives are still difficult and hard. Therefore, the experience of the mountainous education sector is to mobilize the socialization of people's strength; increase interaction with parents to coordinate child care, and advise local authorities, Border Guard Stations, organizations and social groups to invest and fund schools.

The model of “Coordination between family, school and community in child care and education” is also an initiative implemented by the Nghe An Department of Education and Training with the goal of improving the quality of child care and education in preschools. In the period of 2020 - 2025, preschools across the province have made a breakthrough change in appearance in building a child-centered educational environment. Many schools have truly become bright spots in terms of creative play and learning spaces for children.

Schools also coordinate with the Parents' Representative Committee to develop a plan for socialized education in many forms, such as: supporting funds, working days, materials... to build a green, clean, beautiful, safe and friendly educational environment. Currently, 100% of preschools have developed regulations for coordination between schools, families and the community in caring for and educating children.

Mr. Nguyen Van Khoa - Deputy Director of Nghe An Department of Education and Training said that, implementing the 2-level local government, the department has proactively requested schools to do a good job of consulting and planning the school network to suit the development in the new period. Ensuring the goal of universalizing preschool education for preschool children and implementing innovation in the child care and education program.

In addition, it is necessary to coordinate effectively with local authorities, mass organizations and parents to mobilize all resources and support schools to improve facilities, especially schools in mountainous and disadvantaged areas. Continue to invest in building a modern and friendly educational environment. Proactively transform digitally and apply AI in developing plans and programs for child care and education. Selectively replicate advanced educational methods that are suitable for school and local realities.

In 5 years of implementing the model of 'Coordination between family, school and community in child care and education', from 2020 - 2025, Nghe An Education sector has mobilized more than 800 thousand working days, mobilized over 900 billion VND to support schools in purchasing equipment, supplies, toys... for children. That creates conditions to support comprehensive child care, especially in ethnic minority highlands, border and coastal areas.
