Phu Tho builds a potassium fertilizer production line with a capacity of 20,000 tons/year

On June 20, Lam Thao Super Phosphate and Chemical Joint Stock Company, Lam Thao district, Phu Tho province started construction of a high-quality potassium fertilizer (SOP) production line with a capacity of 20,000 tons/year and held a ceremony to attach a signboard to the project to welcome the 4th Congress of Delegates of the Vietnam Chemical Group Party Committee, term 2025-2030.

The investment project to build a SOP production line with a capacity of 20,000 tons/year has a total investment of nearly 120 billion VND. This is one of the first large-scale industrial SOP lines in Vietnam, applying advanced, environmentally friendly technology, allowing good control of output product quality and optimizing the efficiency of raw material use.

SOP is a high-grade fertilizer with high potassium content and no chlorine, very suitable for sensitive crops such as tea, tobacco, coffee, pepper, vegetables and fruit trees. This is a popular product in many developed markets and is in increasing demand in Vietnam.

General Director of Lam Thao Super Phosphate and Chemical Joint Stock Company Pham Thanh Tung said that the investment in the SOP production line is another step to affirm that Lam Thao Super Phosphate and Chemical continues to commit to implementing the green transformation strategy, innovating technology and developing high-quality, environmentally friendly products, in line with world trends.

This is one of the first industrial-scale production lines in the country. When the project comes into operation, it will not only meet the domestic fertilizer market demand for agriculture , reduce imports, but also aim for exports and increase competitiveness.

Therefore, the Company will mobilize maximum resources, closely coordinate with partners and local authorities, strictly comply with regulations on labor safety and environmental protection, so that the project can be implemented on schedule with high quality. The high-quality potassium fertilizer production line is expected to be completed in December 2025.

Chairman of the Board of Members of Vietnam Chemical Group Phung Quang Hiep requested Lam Thao Super Phosphate and Chemical Joint Stock Company to ensure the progress and quality of the project in addition to ensuring the quality of the works. Along with that, the unit needs to strengthen training for operating workers; expand the market, distribution system, and closely cooperate with fertilizer manufacturers so that SOP products can soon reach farmers...

On the same day, Lam Thao Super Phosphate and Chemical Joint Stock Company inaugurated and put into operation the company's sales and product introduction center.

The project has a total investment of more than 14 billion VND, an area of more than 1,300m2 , fully integrating functional areas such as offices, transaction counters, product introduction counters, meeting rooms, public service rooms... helping to optimize operations, save costs, logistics and management.
