Phu Quoc is entering a phase of large-scale air connectivity expansion with the Russian market, according to the prestigious travel news site Travel and Tour World. It is expected that, in addition to existing routes from Moscow and Krasnoyarsk, a series of charter flights from six other cities including Samara, Yekaterinburg, Irkutsk, Kazan, Novokuznetsk and Novosibirsk will be put into operation from November 2025. In addition, a Vietnamese airline is also expected to operate direct routes from Russian Far Eastern cities such as Vladivostok, Blagoveshchensk and Khabarovsk around October-November this year.

With the advantage of increasingly expanding air connectivity, many major tour operators in Russia such as Anex Tour, Russian Express and Space Travel forecast that the number of tour bookings to Phu Quoc in the winter of 2025–2026 will increase by 30–35% compared to the same period last year. These forecasts are reinforced by the increasing awareness of Russian tourists about Phu Quoc, which is known as a tropical paradise, with an ideal climate at the end of the year, beautiful natural landscapes with the most beautiful beaches on the planet, world- class resorts and a peaceful atmosphere.
According to the Russian Travel Association, many travel companies in the country are actively promoting tours to the “tropical paradise” Phu Quoc, with the message of promoting the Pearl Island as an ideal place for a “perfect winter vacation”. Statistics from PAC GROUP, a large travel company in Russia, show that Phu Quoc is leading the list of resorts in Vietnam in terms of room bookings for the upcoming winter; ITM GROUP also recorded that Phu Quoc accounts for about 20% of the total number of hotel rooms sold in Vietnam during the winter, and during the peak season at the end of the year, for every three coastal resort bookings, there is one booking in Phu Quoc.
According to Travel and Tour World, there are four reasons why Russian tourists are fascinated with Phu Quoc.
Firstly, the winter climate here is ideal for beach holidays, with warm temperatures, low humidity and little rainfall. These weather conditions make Phu Quoc an attractive alternative to the cold winters in Russia, offering visitors golden sunshine, white sand and blue sea as a perfect winter retreat.

Second, Phu Quoc has a system of high-quality resorts and accommodation services, meeting the needs of international tourists, from luxury coastal hotels to family-friendly resorts. Many accommodation facilities also design special amenities for Russian guests such as Russian-speaking staff and familiar menus, making the vacation more comfortable and convenient. At Kem Beach - one of the most beautiful beaches on the planet, it is easy to see the presence of Russian guests making up a large proportion. Russian guests like to stay long-term at resorts on Kem Beach such as Premier Residences Phu Quoc Emerald Bay, New World Phu Quoc... to enjoy the ideal climate of Phu Quoc.
Third, Phu Quoc’s appeal lies not only in its blue sea and white sand, but also in its diverse natural and cultural experiences. Visitors can explore tropical forests, waterfalls, coral reefs; go scuba diving, kayaking or tour the small islands. The island also preserves its indigenous values through traditional fishing villages, vibrant night markets and historical sites, opening up opportunities to learn more about Vietnamese culture.
Not only that, at Mam Phu Quoc Island, Russian tourists can enjoy experiences that are nowhere else in the world, such as taking the world's longest 3-wire cable car to Hon Thom Island to see the panoramic view of Phu Quoc's sea and sky, watching the Guinness record-breaking Kiss of the Sea multimedia show, visiting the Kiss Bridge - the only non-touch bridge ever praised by CNN, or admiring artistic high-altitude fireworks every night at "Sunset Town"...

Finally, the cost of travel and accommodation in Phu Quoc is relatively competitive compared to many other tropical destinations, making it a suitable choice for all types of travelers, from those looking for a budget holiday to those who prefer a luxury experience.
“With the combination of an expanded flight network, strong promotional campaigns from Russian travel agencies and the special appeal of the Pearl Island, Phu Quoc is poised to welcome a booming wave of Russian tourists. This not only strengthens Phu Quoc’s position as one of the top winter vacation destinations for Russian tourists, but also reflects the increasingly close connection between Russia and Vietnam tourism, promising a vibrant future for both markets,” Travel and World Tour concluded.
