Coming to the 5th annual Vietnam Festival of Creativity & Design (VFCD) from December 1-7 in Hanoi, the audience will have the opportunity
the intersection between technology and people.
Initiated in 2019, VFCD is co-organized by RMIT University Vietnam, the United Nations
Educational , Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), the Vietnam National Institute of Culture and Arts Studies (VICAS) and partners in the creative sector.

This year’s festival theme, “Intelligence & Technology”, explores the essential role of design at the intersection of technology and humanity, through discussions, workshops, exhibitions and other activities. This year’s festival takes place in Ho Chi Minh City from November 13-19 before moving to Hanoi. VFCD in Hanoi includes other notable activities such as: “Future Heritage: Creative Intelligence and Impact on Future Heritage in Vietnam” workshop, “Coded Textiles: The Future of Heritage” talk, “Hanoi City in 2048” talk. Since its launch, VFCD has supported the national strategy for the development of cultural industries, including establishing a close relationship between cultural and socio-economic development of the country. The festival contributes to laying the foundation for the establishment of a “creative belt” spanning the country through the expansion of the UNESCO Creative Cities Network in Vietnam. 2023 marks both the fifth anniversary of the festival and the 50th anniversary of
diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Australia. Over the years, VFCD has regularly connected creative professionals from both countries. “The 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations between our two countries is a remarkable achievement, demonstrating cooperation and mutual respect,” said Professor Julia Gaimster, Head of the School of Communication and Design at RMIT Vietnam and Head of the festival organising committee. VFCD promotes cultural cooperation between our two countries and celebrates the opportunities that creative partnerships can create.”
