Continue to shoulder the pioneering mission, leading the way
This morning (August 26), the Ministry of Construction held a ceremony to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the Transport Industry's Traditional Day (August 28, 1945 - August 28, 2025).

Attending and speaking at the ceremony, Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Chi Dung affirmed: At every important turning point of the country, there is the mark of those working in the transport sector.
"As someone who studied transportation and worked in the transportation industry in many positions, I am truly moved and proud of the achievements the industry has made over the past 8 decades. That is also the pride of those who have been, are, and will be in the transportation industry," said the Deputy Prime Minister.
According to the Deputy Prime Minister, the country is transforming strongly to enter a new era, meeting the goal of rapid and sustainable development, achieving double-digit growth, aiming for Vietnam to become a developing country with modern industry and high average income by 2030. By 2045, it will become a developed country with high income.
In that context, the Transport industry (now the Construction industry) still has to shoulder the mission, pioneering like the engineers who went ahead to pave the way.
Reality proves that each invested road traffic project has been forming a new economic corridor, new growth pole, new industrial - urban - service belts, contributing to the development of regions, localities and economic sectors.

Each seaport is serving import and export goods well, enhancing integration and international trade. Each airport is making an important contribution to creating momentum for tourism development.
The challenges are still great but also opportunities. The industry must determine its responsibilities and missions, and make worthy contributions to the country's innovation and development through research and investment in larger, more modern projects with newer thinking, longer-term vision, and clearer effectiveness.
"In particular, the railway sector, high-speed railway on the North-South axis, national railway projects, urban railways require huge resources, hundreds of billions of dollars are also bringing great development opportunities for the railway industry. What the industry will do to seize this opportunity is also a question that needs to be raised.
"Reviewing planning, ensuring connectivity of new development spaces, developing new human resources, developing science and technology, and enhancing international cooperation are also issues that need attention," the Deputy Prime Minister suggested.
Delighted with the achievements and great contributions of the Transport sector, Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Chi Dung also presented the Construction sector and those working in the transport sector with 14 words: Solidarity - Pioneer - Intelligence - Creativity - Courage - Imprint - Pride.
"In short, in any circumstance, we must create our own unique qualities as transport workers, continuing to make our mark on the country's development journey," the Deputy Prime Minister emphasized.

Innovation for practical contribution
Receiving the direction of the Deputy Prime Minister, Deputy Minister of Construction Nguyen Danh Huy affirmed that the Party Committee and leaders of the Ministry of Construction will thoroughly instruct Party committees at all levels, leaders of agencies and units to continue to develop specific action programs and focus on implementing them resolutely and effectively, and excellently completing the tasks entrusted by the Party, Government and people.
"We would like to express our deep gratitude for the attention of the Party, State, Government, National Assembly, ministries and local branches over the past years and send our gratitude to generations of cadres, leaders, employees and workers in the transport sector.
Continuing and promoting the glorious tradition of 80 years of construction and development, each cadre, civil servant, public employee and worker in the construction industry will uphold their sense of responsibility before the Party, State and People for the mission of "going ahead to pave the way", developing the traffic arteries, continuing to innovate to make greater and more practical contributions to the cause of building and defending the Fatherland", Deputy Minister Nguyen Danh Huy said.
