Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Chi Dung offers incense to pay tribute to heroic martyrs in Quang Tri province

On the occasion of the 78th anniversary of War Invalids and Martyrs Day, July 27 (1947-2025), this afternoon, July 7, Party Central Committee member, Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Chi Dung, National Assembly Delegate of the 15th term of Quang Tri province, along with the central working delegation, offered incense and laid wreaths to pay tribute to heroic martyrs at the Quang Tri Ancient Citadel Special National Monument, Truong Son National Martyrs Cemetery and Road 9 National Martyrs Cemetery.

Also attending the ceremony were Alternate member of the Party Central Committee, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Quang Tri Provincial Party Committee Nguyen Long Hai; Deputy Head of the Provincial National Assembly Delegation Hoang Duc Thang and other National Assembly deputies.

Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Chi Dung and his delegation offered incense at the Quang Tri Citadel National Monument, where the heroic struggle of our army and people took place during 81 days and nights in the historic summer of 1972 to protect the Quang Tri Citadel. Thousands of cadres and soldiers of the liberation army heroically sacrificed their lives on this land, many of whom died at a very young age. The blood and bones of the heroic soldiers have merged into the ground, into the Thach Han River, for the country to blossom with independence and unity, for the happy life of the people.

Next, Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Chi Dung offered incense and flowers at the National Road 9 Martyrs' Cemetery, the eternal resting place of more than 10,800 AHLS who fought and heroically sacrificed on the Quang Tri battlefield and performed noble international duties. The Deputy Prime Minister and delegates respectfully offered incense and expressed their gratitude to the outstanding sons of the homeland and country who devoted their youth and heroically sacrificed for the independence and freedom of the nation.

At the Truong Son National Martyrs' Cemetery, the resting place of 10,200 AHLS, Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Chi Dung and his delegation offered flowers, incense and observed a moment of silence to commemorate the AHLS. During the struggle for national liberation, many outstanding sons from all over the country followed the call of the Fatherland, heroically sacrificing for the independence and freedom of the nation, for the happiness of the people.
