Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Ngoc Sam received Consul General of Japan in Da Nang City Mori Takero

On the afternoon of July 29, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Ngoc Sam received Japanese Consul General in Da Nang City Mori Takero and his wife Mori Ino who visited and worked in Quang Ngai. Attending the reception were representatives of the Department of Foreign Affairs, the Department of Finance and the Office of the Provincial People's Committee.

At the reception, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Ngoc Sam informed the Consul General of Japan in Da Nang City Mori Takero that Quang Ngai province has just come into operation since July 1. The new Quang Ngai province has a large scale, potential and strong ability to make a breakthrough. In the first 6 months of 2025, the province's economic growth rate is the highest in the country, with GRDP increasing by 11.51%.

In recent times, the cooperation between Quang Ngai and Japanese localities and partners has achieved certain results. In the field of economic and trade investment cooperation, there are 8 Japanese investment projects, with a total registered capital of about 254.5 million USD. In 2024 and the first 6 months of 2025, the export turnover to Japan will reach about 100 million USD, the import turnover will reach about more than 102 million USD.

In recent years, Quang Ngai province has received many ODA projects funded by the Japanese Government and the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA). Japan is also the market with the highest number of workers in the province. Currently, there are more than 4,000 workers in the province working for 8 Japanese companies and contractors, and 27 Japanese workers have been granted work permits in the province.

Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Ngoc Sam emphasized that Quang Ngai province acknowledges and highly appreciates the cooperation and support of the Consul General of Japan in Da Nang City, Mori Takero. Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Ngoc Sam hopes that the Consul General of Japan in Da Nang City, Mori Takero, will continue to act as a bridge for cooperation activities, specifically continuing to support the development of friendly and cooperative relations between Quang Ngai province and Oita province.

Continue to introduce Japanese investors to survey, research, cooperate in investment, business and trade in Quang Ngai. At the same time, support to promote cooperation in sending workers to work in Japan; exchange and sign cooperation agreements with local labor unions to recruit, manage and support workers and interns of the province to work at local enterprises.
