Black hole 30 billion times larger than the Sun discovered thanks to Albert Einstein's prediction

Albert Einstein (1879-1955) was one of the world's most famous scientists . His name is also used to refer to people with genius minds.

Albert Einstein is the person who proposed the theory of relativity and thanks to his invention, humanity's perception of the universe has completely changed. Not only that, his predictions have partly helped scientists make many important discoveries about the universe. Typically, the supermassive black hole was recently found through an optical illusion that Albert Einstein had previously predicted. What is the impact of this discovery?

We all know that black holes are dense objects in the universe. They have such a strong gravitational pull that not even light can escape. Supermassive black holes are hundreds of thousands of times more massive than black holes. However, in addition to supermassive black holes, objects that are so astronomically dense that scientists have had to come up with a new classification are massive supermassive black holes. The only difference between regular black holes and supermassive black holes is their size.

Astronomers at Durham University in the UK used gravitational lensing combined with a supercomputer to find the black hole in Abell 1201, 2.7 billion light years from Earth. It is also one of the largest black holes ever discovered. The discovery was published in the journal Monthly Notices of the Royal Astronomical Society.

Experts have noticed that at the center of a galaxy cluster more than two billion light years away - Abell 1201 - an optical illusion called gravitational lensing is occurring. This gravitational lensing phenomenon occurs when bright light from an object in the background bends around an object in the foreground.

The concept of gravitational lensing is closely related to Albert Einstein's general theory of relativity, which predicted other phenomena in the universe, such as massive objects warping the fabric of space-time. He also predicted that these curves could act like a magnifying lens.

Based on Albert Einstein's prediction, astronomers have identified a black hole with a mass of about 30 billion times that of the Sun. This supermassive black hole is located inside the brightest galaxy in the Abell 1201 galaxy cluster. The galaxy containing this black hole is also affected by the gravitational field of this object.

This is also the first time a supermassive black hole has been found using gravitational lensing. Scientists also hope to find more black holes in the future.
