Launching the development of voluntary social insurance and self-paid health insurance participants

Today, July 1, at the headquarters of the Social Insurance Agency of Region XVI, the Social Insurance Agency of Region XVI held a ceremony to launch the development of voluntary social insurance and self-paid health insurance participants in the province, in response to Vietnam Health Insurance Day.

The launching ceremony was held online at the Social Insurance Region XVI bridge point and 15 bridges in the region.

Speaking at the ceremony, the leader of the Social Insurance Agency of Region XVI emphasized the key role of the social insurance and health insurance policies in the social security system. At the same time, he proposed to focus on promoting the dissemination of new points of the revised Law on Health Insurance in 2024 (Law No. 51/2024/QH15), which will officially take effect from July 1, 2025, including: Adjusting the contribution level and payment method; health insurance card; expanding the right to medical examination and treatment and strengthening sanctions for violations in the implementation of health insurance contribution obligations.

To realize the goals of expanding the coverage of social insurance and health insurance in accordance with the spirit of the Resolution of the Party, the Government and the political report of the Quang Tri Provincial Party Congress, the social insurance sector sets the target by 2030: The health insurance coverage rate will reach 97.5-98%, and social insurance will reach 65% of the working-age workforce.

At the launching ceremony, Social Insurance Region XVI and collection service organizations signed a commitment to implement the targets in the launching month, striving from July 1-31, 2025, to develop 1,695 new voluntary social insurance participants and 2,272 self-paid health insurance participants.

In addition, social insurance officers and collection staff of collection service organizations will coordinate to organize conferences, launch propaganda campaigns in small groups, mobilize people in the area to participate in voluntary social insurance and self-paid health insurance, ensuring the completion of assigned targets on developing social insurance and health insurance participants.

Representatives of Social Insurance Region XVI and service organizations signed a commitment to implement the targets of the launching month.

Through the peak period, the Social Insurance sector hopes to continue raising people's awareness of the meaning and benefits of social insurance and health insurance policies; promptly meeting the need for consultation, answering related information and promoting the implementation of the goal of universal health insurance coverage according to the targets assigned by the Vietnam Social Insurance and the Provincial People's Committees in 2025.

The event also aims to enhance the responsibility of all levels, sectors, organizations and individuals in implementing policies and laws on social insurance and health insurance, mobilizing close coordination between state agencies and socio-political organizations, while promoting the role of prestigious individuals and organizations in the community in propagating this policy.
