The contractor is concentrating machinery and human resources to construct a project to overcome natural disasters at km 28+400 on Highway 435 in Suoi Hoa commune, Tan Lac district.
According to the report of the Department of Construction, the emergency project to overcome the consequences of natural disasters at km27+750 and km28+400, Provincial Road 435 was approved by the Provincial People's Committee under Decision No. 2818/QD-UBND, dated December 25, 2024 with a total investment of more than 63.9 billion VND. The project was constructed by a joint venture of Dong Nam Company and Phu Tho Mechanical Engineering. This is a project to prevent, combat and overcome the consequences of the prolonged heavy rain that occurred in July 2024, causing serious landslides on DT.435 - a route of particular importance in connecting trade in the highland area.
The project includes the construction of 2 viaducts at 2 landslide locations, with permanent reinforced concrete structures, complying with TCVN 11823:2017 standards. Of which, the bridge at km 27+750 is 96.05m long, the bridge at km 28+400 is 108.1m long, with a continuous span frame structure, ensuring load-bearing capacity and durability over time.
On April 17, 2025, the Department of Construction handed over the entire construction site to the contractor and issued a groundbreaking order for the project from April 28, 2025. The project is expected to be completed within 4 months. Currently, after more than 1 month of construction, the total completed volume has reached 31.6% of the contract value, equivalent to more than 16.3 billion VND. Of which, Dong Nam Company (construction of the bridge at km 27+750) has completed all 30 bored piles, reaching nearly 37.4% of the work volume. Phu Tho Mechanical Company (construction of the bridge at km 28+400) has completed 22/36 piles, reaching about 26.4% of the contract value.
According to the records at the scene, the contractors have gathered all the machinery and equipment to carry out the construction, arranged the camp, bypass and construction site. To meet the set schedule, the construction units have proactively coordinated with the localities to organize traffic flow and closely coordinated with each other to take advantage of favorable weather to carry out the construction in 3 shifts and 4 teams.
Mr. Le Ngoc Quan, Deputy Director of the Department of Construction, said: "Route 435 is one of the key traffic routes connecting the region and serving tourism in the province. Therefore, promptly fixing the problem on the route is one of the urgent requirements, especially when the 2025 flood season is approaching. The Department will continue to closely direct and require contractors to increase human resources and equipment for continuous construction, ensuring progress and quality. The goal is to complete and open the project to technical traffic before August 15, 2025."
Accelerating the construction progress not only aims to restore damaged infrastructure, but also ensure traffic safety and promote socio -economic development in affected areas. This is one of the province's specific efforts in responding to natural disasters and building a sustainable transport system that adapts to climate change.
