The Politburo has just issued Resolution No. 71 on breakthroughs in education and training development.
In particular, the two key contents emphasized are the 2045 vision, when Vietnam becomes a developed country with high income, modern, equitable and quality national education , ranked in the top 20 countries in the world.
To ensure the conditions for realizing that aspiration, it is necessary to increase the proportion of state budget expenditure on education and training.

Specifically, Resolution 71 sets the target by 2030: completing universal preschool and lower secondary education; 85% of the population of school age completing high school; 80% of general schools meeting national standards; 100% of higher education institutions and at least 80% of vocational education institutions meeting national standards.
There are at least 8 universities in the top 200 in Asia, 1 in the top 100 in the world in some fields.
The goal by 2035 is to universalize high school education nationwide, the education index in the human development index HDI will reach over 0.85; and there will be at least 2 universities in the world's top 100.
In particular, the goal by 2045 is for Vietnam to have a modern, equitable, and high-quality education system, ranked among the top 20 countries in the world.
High-quality human resources become a competitive advantage, striving for at least 5 universities in the world's top 100.
In 2025, there will be 6 Vietnamese universities ranked by QS, but only Duy Tan University is in the top 500, the remaining schools are ranked from 711-140.
According to THE's rankings, Vietnam has 9 ranked schools, but they are in positions from 501 to 1501+.
